you may have damaged the mass air flow sensor or got it wet or something go back and make sure you did everything the right way when u installed it

Did you unplug the battery? Try leaving it unplugged for a while.

Go buy some mass air flow sensor cleaner. It comes in an aerosol can. Unplug your negative battery terminal also. If that doesn't work then I suggest you return the item and buy another intake. Don't buy an ebay intake.

It is just a pipe and a filter yes. But is that filter letting too much or too little air in? Is it designed correctly to have the MAF sensor in the correct position in the tube? Try scanning for the code to see what exactly is wrong.

Definetely have the code scanned to see what the PCM is saying.

The usual cause of a check engine light after an aftermarket intake pipe installation is because of the change in pipe diameter of the new intake, easily fixed by anyone local who is able to recalibrate your mass airflow sensor via HPTuners.

That really doesnt make any sense. A mass airflow sensor measures actual air mass, hence the name.

Don't worry about it. The car will learn new fuel trims at the same rate regardless of whether its memory was reset or not.

Usually pulling the battery will take longer for the car to run the way it did before because now it has to also relearn other stored variables that the new intake didn't affect.

the MAF sensor isnt reading the right amount of air hitting it..all the air goes around it and not into it..so it throws a code and pops the light to let the driver know that its not reading any air, altho **** load of air is passing around it and goin where its suppose to go..its just giving u an annoying heads up

if you have an ss/sc you can find someone with hp tuners to tune your MAF sensor for the change.

It would probably be cheaper to ditch the cheap intake and get one that's the right diameter though. MAF tuning can take a good amount of time on the dyno sometimes. Time=money.

If the intake narrows down on the end going into the filter you need to cut that piece off . A lot of people were having cel issues with ebay intakes , after they trimmed the end off their problems dissappered .

OK i did a scan at work and if i remember correctly the code was p0844 there was no description of that code. i also checked every conaction and cleaned the MAF sensor. also i cleared the code but i just came back again and car is running like **** again. im relly pissed now so any help is mucho apreciated
if the answer is hp tunners how would i go about find a person/shop that could help?

p.s. i did not disconnect battery, and when i was working on it notice quite abit of liquid comming out of the tailpipe.

P0844 isn't on the DTC list for the 2005- 2007 cobalt , theres a p0843 then i jumps to P0961 according to GM's service information current list .

Huh... thats weird that GM doesn't have it in service information under DTC list. Maybe i'm wrong but why would a 5 speed have a Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor?

It sounds like the MAF is disconnected. A poor connection will cause p0103 to set. P0101 is setting basically because p0103 is.

If its setting the code at anything other than near redline (idle or cruise mainly) its probably the connection. It could be something else like a faulty MAF or you actually are hitting the MAF limit but the connection is easy to diagnose.

Just try what rukkee said, the ebay intake has a bottle neck at the end of the pipe where the filter goes.Cut that piece off and you should be set,i was getting the same code until i cut that piece off, good luck.

Forgot to add, ditch the ebay filter if your using it and buy a aem dryflow filter.
