eBay Intake installed

Well after resisting for way too long I finally bought a CAI.

I am a cheap ass so I bought the $70 ebay intake and crossed my fingers.

Car4Option was the seller. over all decent transaction but he took his sweet ass time sending my intake.

Saturday me and SS33 got together and I collected from my shop time owed account and we put it in.

There were some fitment issues but from what I understand every intake has them.

Over all very happy with the product. for money and time spent vs. results I think this was second best. GM stage 2 (+2.79 pulley) being best.

without further ado here's the pics. More in SS33 gallery.

We had to saw off a bit to make the filter fit better.

For those who don’t know I spent all day in his garage last weekend putting in his heat exchanger, dual pass intercooler and extra coolant reservoir tank.
SS33 wrist deep in payback!!
just kidding.

Finished product
I tried to match our gunmetal wheel but failed fantastically. I still love the look

OH by the way
I AM HOOKED ON THE WHINE!

I installed mine the other day with a K&N filter. The thing is rubbin real bad against the cross member behind the driverside headlight. Gonna have to make some modifications to it. I also love the whine..

Its not rubbing inside the bumper, that was fine. Its uptop between the fuse box and the crossmember behind the headlight.

Wow, It's a one piece? I couldn't get a one piece to bend the way that I wanted, so I ended up just making one with two pieces so that I could get the curve and smooth flow that I wanted. I just hold them together with some clamps and vibrant performance sleeves. So far I haven't had any issues... but hell for $70, I should have just gone that route...
