Is this the best order?

I just purchased these products:

12 microfiber cloths
1 microfiber wash sponge
Ice car wash
Mothers clay bar kit (includes bar, cleaner wax, and detailer)
Meguiars "step 1" paint cleaner
Meguiars "step 2" polish
Meguiars gold class paste wax
Nanowax spray on just for after normal washes and to make the plastic shine
Ice total interior care
Black magic tire wet express
Stoners invisible glass

The tire shine, glass cleaner, and interior car product are fairly obvious. My question is about the order to use the other products. I'll say the order I think everything should go in and you guys please correct me if I'm mistaken.

1. Ice car wash
2. Mothers clay bar kit, skip the cleaner wax
3. Meguiars "step 1" paint cleaner
4. Meguiars "step 2" polish
5. Meguiars gold class paste wax

Then for washes between wax days, just the car wash and then the nanowax spray.

Does that sound good?

Well... the clay bar kit is the better version of the paint cleaner... they are redundant.

I realized that and wondered if I should even buy the paint cleaner. I thought maybe it would be a good idea to take the residue of the detailer (from the clay bar kit) off before using the polish. Maybe it's not necessary?

just wipe the residue off with a clean rag as you go.

The bottle also claims it will "remove" swirls and light scratches so I'm assuming there's some kind of filler. Will the clay bar or polish or one of those do the same, or should I still use it just for that?

Thanks

How often do you clay? I was under the impression it was a once a year kinda thing?

Yes. Some do it more, but if you know any detailers or do any research, you will learn that doing it too often will wear down your clear coat significantly.

Actually, you shouldn't wax too often either... However, of course, you can wax much more often than you should clay bar.

To the op... Claybar OR cleaner. The polish is the '2nd step'. With waxing being the third. That's the usual cycle for a full detail... claybar polish wax.

I clay twice a year normally, and wax 2-4 times a year, depending on weather and how much i wash my car.

I clay every couple months only because I love that smooth slick feel. I wax my hood/front end every 2 weeks lol. Wax the whole car every month. And of course use the Ultimate detailer after every car wash.

How is the Ice car wash? I bought the liquid wax when it first came out and thought it sucked so I never bought ICE products again. I think your steps sounds good. I think I would do the cleaner wax though. Personal choice.

Cleaner wax and the regular one? I haven't heard of a cleaner wax previously and I'm not really sure what it is... any info would be appreciated.

I haven't used the ice carwash yet, this weekend I will.

Clay bar... and Cleaner Wax are not even close to the same thing!

You got a good setup there...

What is the heck is cleaner wax though? Is it like wax and paint cleaner in one or what?

At this point I think I'm just going to not use it because I don't know what it is and I'm pretty sure I have all the bases covered without it.
