Buffing Glass?

Okay so here's the scenario. On my car, before I bought it, a rock or something sharp must have gotten attached to the wiper blade and there's a very thin scrape or scratch whatever in the glass on the driver's side. I have little clue how it actually got there and it isn't deep and certainly not a serious issue but I want to buff out all of the scratches on the car eventually and this one included.

So how would I fix this? Would you need a photo to see really what I'm talking about?

i know they fill chips and stuff but a long scratch you might just have to deal with or get a new windshield. but some1 might have a little trick

I've been driving for 13 years now (started at 11) and I can't believe I haven't gotten so much as a nick in my windshield. Now my hood and bumper is another story. Thanx for the future info cuz I probably just jinxed myself.

Check your insurance coverage. BUT DON'T CALL THEM!!! Most cover glass. If your's does buy yourself an automatic, spring loaded center punch and use it one time somewhere along the top of the glass. be sure you won't need the car for a couple of days cause the center punch will SHATTER the glass. The center punch works good because it doesn't leave a tell tale dimple in the glass. It's also a good thing to carry for emergencies.

Good luck.

Or just whip it with your antenna. It'll shatter this way as well. Or throw a rock at it and say a truck kicked it up haha

Lowering your deductible when you know you have a issue coming up is still considered fraud btw.

Anyways, depending on how deep it is, you could use jewelers rogue. Apparently a detailer's trick is to blackfire aluminium polish on the windows (It contains jewelers rogue).

As much as insurance charges I’m all for insurance fraud. Their rates are unethical to begin with.

I don't know what they charge out there but in NY it's ridiculous.

so my ******* just scratched my passenger glass a little bit. cant image it is that deep but im at work right now. plan on getting a better look tommorow in the garage. i was just checking to see if i could get out the factory glass and factory tint 'stamp' thats on all the glass. didnt know if it is engraved or a sticker on the inside, so being the impatient sherlock that i am, decided to rub it on the inside with finer/fingernail and there is now a scratch from my attempt. Didn't even go that hard, honest! (that's what she said...)

the porcelain on a spark plug, break it off, tie it to a string and whip the windshield. Should shatter no prob. and if you ever see someone approaching your car twirling something, expect a broken winshield
