Clay Bar!!

Well I used a clay bar for the first time today, and let me just say that it is amazing. I've been cleaning cars for almost 8 years now...from just a quick wash to a full on wax job. I've never heard of a clay bar until I joined this site. I used it today and it's unbelievable!!! After I dried my car, I had a few swirls and what not, and after the clay and then wax, it was like a mirror finish! If any of you haven't used a clay bar before, I would start using it! You'll be amazed!!! I'm going to do my entire car this weekend. If anyone wants to know, I used the Mother's Kit...I got it from Wal-Mart.

just make sure after you clay-bar the car you wash it and then wax it. clay baring stripps all the wax off the car, so if you dont wax it when done you have nothing protecting the finnish.

Oh yeah...Its an amazing product...But it takes everything off.. If you dont, look at it from different angles and you can see imperfections and all kinds of other not appealing things.. Best to clean before/after, then wax and whatever else

Hmm...I didn't wash the car again after I clayed it. I wiped all the smudges down so that it was smooth, and then put wax on it.

Turbo Wax...what kind of kits do you sell. The one I got came with quick detail, bottle of wax and a clay car for $15. I would like to support this site and its vendors. What does your kit come with?

Would by any chance sell just a clay bar or a clay bar with wax or something along those lines?

so right now, we have black car that has lots of swirls from waxing with a wheel, they are not deep at all and we probably have around 10 coats of wax on the car....

would clay bar be the best option?

I would definitely give it a shot. When was the last time you waxed your car? If it's been recent, make sure when you wash it, to do so with a solution that will get the wax off. After that, go over with the clay bar, wipe everything down again so it's clean and smooth, then put a coat of wax on it. It greatly helped improved my hood!!

Not all swirls, but it will definitely make improvements. Turbo Wax (a few posts up...a vendor) sells a swirl remover type of wax. But using a clay bar will definitely help!

Oh...I really haven't looked into that much. Get yourself the clay bar kit from a vendor here or any Wal-Mart and give it a shot. It's fun haha.

How do I find this show and shine section? I don't see it under forum jump.

I see...it's not under the forum jump tab. Anyway..they didn't have Meguiar's when I went, but I would imagine it's pretty good...I mean everything else they produce is really good.

Just an FYI, clay bars do not remove swirl marks. They prevent them.
