Clay bar question

Alright so today I washed my car, rinsed really well and dried it off... after that I used the Maguiar's Clay bar kit to clay bar the car... now the thing is since the process is time consuming, by the time I was done it was dark out. I was surprised with all the dirt the clay bar got out, had to fold it and remake it several times. Now I was wondering, how often should the car get clay bared? Since I didn't get to finish the whole process today (apply swirl x and buff it a little then wax) should I reclay tomorrow or will that be unnecessary and I should just start off with a wash then swirlx then wax?

you can get away with claybarring your car twice or three times a year, but beware you took everything off the car inlculding the wax so there is nothing protecting your paint, i would wax it right away

if you got all the way done with the clay bar, put the car in the garage if possible and wax it tomorrow, it will be fine. but if it has to stay outside just wash it then wax it. you only need to clay the car when the wax dont get everything off like overspray, rail dust, brake dust. make sure you do wax it as after clay barring there is nothing protecting the paint

I can't wax it today, it's dark and cold out... all I'm going to use my car for tomorrow is to drive to work and back, then I'll rewash it, swirlx buff it and then wax it.

Oh yeah also, I got a random orbit waxer/polisher... what pads should I use for buffing wax off after applying it with the pad (I like to apply by hand).

The clay bar works great on glass too! Use a foam pad if possible. Wool pads are hard on clean coat.
