Engine Bay Help!

What is the best way to clean the engine bay in my SS/TC? I like the original valve cover, but its dirty, and it needs to be cleaned, as well as the rest of the bay... What is the best way to clean it? Also, what can stand up to the heat of the turbo? It does get really hot under the hood on the SS/TC.

Just hose everything down. spray some purple power in there and let it set for a few minutes then hose everything off. It's what I do. lol

if your spraying directly at it then yes. But it wont matter if some water splashes on it, hell it would get wet if you go through a big puddle since the underside doesnt cover the engine.

Few things I'll add to laserblue2006's list:

Cover the fuse box/computer/ignition coil with a plastic bag and spray all the electrical connections with WD-40 before you hose it down to keep any water out of them. I mess up an Avalanche by getting the coils wet (sprayed them down with WD-40 and it was fine) and somehow got the computer wet in a brand new Mini and had to get it replaced under warrenty (thought I covered it up enough).

I have never in my life covered anything on any of my vehicles when washing the engine. One time i had a cracked coil and it didnt want to start so i just dumped some isopropyl alcohol on it it disipated the water and fired right up.
