GM's paint jobs suck
OK, I love my Cobalt, but the paint job is getting worse day by day. We just had a decent amount of rainfall the past couple days and now my peeling clear coat is getting a lot worse. The clear on the roof is almost completely gone and the clear on the sides of the car is getting hazy any looking like it could start bubbling every day. I don't know what to do at this point, I can't afford a paint job, and my car just keeps looking worse! I wish GM would do a recall on this because its just pathetic. I'm about ready to say **** it and put it in primer.
Here's what I'm talking about...
Here's the roof...
This is the pillar above the drivers door...
Here's the back of the same pillar above the rear quarter window bubbling up getting ready to start peeling... (I can feel the water moving around under this)
And a pic of the passenger side of the car where it's hazing up, its also doing this on the drivers side...
The pics don't do any justice for what it looks like in real life. I'm trying to make my Balt look better and it's trying to make it's self look worse! Anyone else with this aggravating problem?

mine's an 06 and yes I've washed it a lot and waxed it once since I've had it. The roof was already peeling when I got it a few months ago, it's just gotten worse no matter what I do

it had to be from neglect from previous owners, cause I've done my best to take care of it as well as I can. The first thing I did when I got it was wax it, since then I've given it baths almost every time it was dirty, and use quick detail wax on it like every few weeks

yeah the roof was pretty bad when I got it, but has gotten a lot worse. The hazing didn't start till after these last storms we had come thru, and they're under the clear coat, believe me I tried getting rid of them

Nope, did it in the shade of the trees at my dad's house, before the tornadoes came thru and destroyed them all. My dad and I both used to work together detailing cars and we know all the little tricks to it, but there really isn't anything we could do about it. I'm just frustrated and don't know what to do next...

I'm seriously thinking bout doing a satin black, but I don't even have the money for that right now, so I guess I just have to deal with it looking like **** for a while, lol

You can probably save the sides, My roof was hazy looking with rough paint. I used turbowax's oxidation block and it feels brand new. I neglected my roof quite a bit when I first got the car but now that its getting older I wax it once a month, and wash once a week.

I don't really know, on the rebuild report it said they only painted the hood, fender and bumper. I'm really thinking hardcore about removing the wing & the door moldings getting an SS front bumper and shooting the car in satin black and painting the factory wheels black till I get some aftermarket wheels. Of course right now I don't have any income so it will prolly just have to look like **** for a while, lol.
