Removing tree sap

Hey everyone,

This may have been discussed before, but I couldn't find it.

What so you guys use to get tree sap off your cars? I went camping this weekend and noticed I have managed to get a few drips on the rear fender.

Thanks in advance
Shane

I'm pretty sure it comes off w/ a good thorough washing. Just use a little elbow grease. At least that's what I used to do when I lived up in Michigan.

mothers clay bar. sometimes you can pick at it with your fingernail to pop most off, then clay bar the rest. now neverdull might even remove it. i use that for removing tar. bug and tar removed is basically a joke to me. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

aluminim wheel acid..... lol, jk. If its really tough, go buy a bug sponge. use goo gone or bug and tar remover or something like that. Scrub with the sponge (will leave light scratches), and when you are done use a good quality rubbing compound to remove the scratches and then wax it very well.

I say this extreme route bc when I worked in detail shops, some of that **** would not come off for anything.

*****this method not reccomended if the vehicle is black unless you have a good amount of polishing experience.

ok, car is blue, were good.... lol

never dull is a metal polish...... why would you run that on your paint?

my vote goes well with bug and tar remover, or 99% rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth. wax afterward for either though.

This may sound crazy ... but I work at a chevy dealership (i'm a technician) but the guys in the detail shop use an ICE CUBE. I didn't beleive it either, but i'm telling you guys it works!
