Tips on cleaning windows

I have a problem where I can not get my windows clean and streak free no matter what I do. I've been using rain x window cleaner and I've tried everything from microfiber towels to newspaper. I just came here looking for any tips you guys may have.

Have you tried to clay the windows first?

I would try the following steps

1.Wash Window

2.Dried

3.Clay

4.Mix 1part of ammonia to 10 part of water into a spraying bottle, using a damp microfiber towel folded in 8x8 square, spray the window and wipe away, avoid the mix to dry on the window, immediately after wipe away with a dry clean microfiber towel, repeat as needed.

5.Wax your Window

Now you should have a Streak Free Window- This is for windows WITHOUT TINT for the outside the procedure is safe.

I hope this helps

Claybar. Use any cleaner really, spread the solution around with newspaper, then wipe dry with a clean microfiber.

I never thought about trying the claybar on the window, but I do see how this could work.

i heard ammonia can weaken your window, and potentially crack it

Good tips from everyone so far. Also, keep rubbing the same area until it is completely dry. That's most important IMO.

I've never heard of that ? That’s why I mentioned the Mix 1 part of ammonia to 10 part of water it is safe.

I do them with our own products and our own system, something that many "Pro Detailer" probably would have a heart attack

Our Body Shop ACC Aluminum and Chrome Cleaner remove’s water spots and creates a clear finish. Simply spray the product onto a clean dry applicator and rub in a circular motion. Then rinse with plenty of water. Avoid letting the product run down onto the painted surface. If this happens, you must rinse right away with water. We have many people using this product for just that problem and they are very happy with the results. I no longer sell this product to the public; people just don’t read the instructions

I use newspapers as well, anything with small fibers tightly packed do good and polishing clear glass. (not tint). Invisible Glass foam works surprisingly well and doesnt leave a residue.

I've also heard that ammonia will ruin window tint. I always use invisible glass and newspaper. Works amazingly.
