The following day when there was day light. Picked up the car at 8:45 PM so was not in the mood to do any of that work that late at night.

as soon as the weather was good, wash, clay bar, and wax, get rid of all the gunk that builds up on the clearcoat while the car is sitting on the lot

Although the stealership did polish and wax it upon delivery, I used paint sealant a few days later.

Hahah yeah i hear ya! I am going wax mine this week after the dealer does a complete exterior cleaning. It has some under coating protecting over spray on it and they are going to do a complete cleaning on it so i will wax it after they do that.

Curious what kind of sealant you used and if you're happy with it? I was checking out a site(AutoTrimDesign)? that deals in vinyl graphics, etc. and the only product they endorsed for use over the vinyl was "Rod and Custom" paint sealant-they sell it BTW. I've cooled on the vinyl but still considering a sealant. Thanks.

Paint sealant is just a synthetic wax. It's supposed to have a longer lasting finish. I don't really notice a major difference between the two, except the sealant is easy to remove when it contacts the plastic trim. I wax every 3-4 months to keep the paint looking great.
