Heres the stuff i've REALLY been looking into. quite expensive but really all seems worth it, if you have ever watched this guys detailing tutorials on youtube (ammoNYC) you will know he's an absolute freak when it comes to polishing and protecting.
his products compliment his theories very well, and despite all of his videos he doesn't really 'push' to sell his products; he just knows you will buy them when you see what they help him do. he formulated everything himself and i think makes it all in house. no rebranded watered down gussied up crap here.
Regimens | AMMO NYC
would cost around 250 to get one of everything but it is quite a bit of really good stuff.
excellent car shampoo, drying aids, a paint 'moisturizer', and show quick wax.
as for wheels, some good wheel soap and some REALLY awesome wheel soap that turns purple when its ready to rinse, and some sick tire gel stuff
the interior 'regimen' is banana's too.
i just haven't had the ***** to buy any of it yet so havent really tested myself but i have faith that it's all pretty awesome.

Side note the guy charges $10 for 10pairs of black nitrile gloves...seems a little inflated
Btw most companies have a wheel cleaner that turns colors its been around for awhile.
I honestly doubt he makes it in house, maybe bottles it in house, but to have the production equipment for those chemicals (even in smaller batches which would increase the variability, think Micro Brews) he would have more invested in that then his sales for 10yrs not pushing the product quantity like Mothers or Meguiars.

I spent 3 days of vacation 2 years ago working on a show finish. Strip old wax with dawn dishwashing liquid. Claybar the entire car. Polish several times with Zaino z2 polish, allowing to harden between coats. Then top coat with Mothers Carnuba just before a show. I use Zaino z8 grand finalle during an outdoor show to keep it popping. Hard work in the beginning, but this will be the 3rd show season with no water on the car at all.

I have never wetsanded but i have definately looked into the idea before for putting the orange peel down a bit... i'm just not that good with a buffer yet; i know how to polish but my technique is really not that good yet so last year i had my detailing buddy do it with/for me.
basically i had wasted a day or so polishing my car and really didn't get much done in the end.
as for paint hardness, what pad and buffer speed do you guys recommend for cutting down basic washmarks and the likes? i have a 7424xp polisher but i'm afraid my m105 and m205 paired with my hexlogic pads werent cutting it; but i'm sure my technique was off. i tried my best to not oversaturate the pads, keep it steady, use the right patterns etc but idk.
