Why is my wax doing this?!?!?!

I just bought some Meguiars NXT Generation Tech wax, I got the paste. I have used the liquid beforeand it worked great, but i wanted to try the paste.

It went on great and i let it sit for about and hour and a half. and it looked dry. (every other wax would have been dry) but when i went to take it off it smeared. no matter how many times i rubbed there was still a smiry film on the car. after the whole car was smeared i went over it again with a clean wrag and it did get rid of most of the smearing.

I am not a rookie at waxing but i have never had a wax do this before. Why did it do this?

you let it sit way too long, and didn't wipe it off enough.

Too much wax... that is wax build up residue on the car! And don't let it sit on the car for an hour... "LET IT FILM OVER, and then wipe off!" one section at a time!

first. you let it sit for way to long, but thats ok.
second. I find with the paste waxes you have to use one rag to get the heavy stuff off and then a second to really do a nice buffing job.
third. you might have also used a little too much wax.

hope that helps
