Window Streaking

Well I've been washing my car myself for a while now. My local carwash does a great job, but I enjoy the satisfaction of doing it on my own. The one thing I just can not get right is my windows. Now matter how well I dry them I ALWAYS get streaks. I use good quality terry towels and I even tried a microfiber cloth, but for the life of me I can get a nice streak free window. How do you do it?

Take one cloth that has window cleaner on it which is pretty wet but not dripping and wipe the window with that and then take another cloth thats dry and dry the window with that one and keep on drying the window even when it looks dry go over it a couple more time and that should work.. Tell me if that helps, I use to be a detailer at a high end shop and thats the trick that we used.

Try Stoner Invisible Glass.

http://www.invisibleglass.com/

I use it and it works great. Just make sure you use two towels. One to apply it and another to dry. You can find it at Autozone, Advanced, Pep Boys, etc etc.

Go buy a can of Invisible Glass RIGHT NOW and use it. Best **** on the market. It's in an aerosol can and comes out in a foam and it does great. I will spray some in the middle of the window and clean it with a paper towel. Does great. The more you use it and the more you get used to it the better your results. I got it at Wal-Mart.

I'd suggest invisible glass with a microfiber glass towel or two.

fwiw, if you use some spray n wipe, it acts similar to rainx. You'll get some nice beading/runoff w/o having that extra step. Its certainly not a replacement for rainx, but gets you similar results w/o having an extra step.

Will Invisible Glass work on the inside of the glass as well? I don't see why it wouldn't just asking.

Yea I only use it on the inside and outside of my windows. It'd be kinda pointless to use it on the outside, then use Windex on the inside and have streaks...

I work in the aviation industry and we use PRIST... Its the best **** on the market. I use it on my car and have no problems with streaks. It comes out in a foam and dries with no film or streaks.

I would not use paper towels or newpaper because they could scratch your window tint since it is made from trees. I ALWAYS use a microfiber cloth. Newspaper works great for home windows, though!
