I have been seeing alot of posts about LSD. I thought they came std on the car. I have a 09 ss/tc coupe. Is there a way to know if my car has LSD? Also, I see that in the future if I ever blow up the tranny zzp has one for 600. Will that be a cause for concern as far as LSD goes? I might be asking a dumb question here, but I'd like to know.

Look on the sticker in the trunk with all the RPO codes, you should see "G85" on there.

If you're lucky and good you can leave 2 tire marks without LSD. Done it many times before.

Did you buy it brand new? If so, you can look at the window sticker, that'll tell ya. If not, you will probably have to look up the VIN. Or you can go do a burnout and see if it's a one wheel wonder

 

rev it up to 6K and drop...let me know

 

if you have access to a car lift..lift it up a lil off theground...at least BOTH front wheels...and spin one...if they spin the SAME way..you have an LSD...if not...ya dont...

I remember when my buddy bought his & was unsure, I just told him to burnem from a dead stop & see if theres 2 tire marks lol. I didn't know of other ways to figure it out like looking @ the vin # or the trunk or I would have prefered doing that instead of burning rubber off his already near bald tires. Just a spur of the moment thing that gave us the answer

 

Most times even a non LSD car will spin both tires in a straight line . To really test it you need to be turning .... thats where LSD will show or not . If it lights up the inside tire in a turn you have a peg leg car.

 

Only way without looking up the RPO and knowing it didn't have a tranny replaced with non LSD

 

lift up pad in trunk check for g85 on the black and silver tag.....says g85 you win and you have lsd

I dont have it either.. and that GM decoder can't find my car lol. I read somewhere that all 2010 come with LSD but I doubt it.

 

All Canadian 2010's came with LSD IIRC .....it was the one and only factory option for the 2010 us cars.

GM should have made the sunroof an option and LSD standard in the US 2010 cars ....... I personally dont care for a sunroof .....neither of my SS's had one..... and it was hard to find an SS without a sunroof, with lsd, in my area .
