No fuel pressure?
No fuel pressure?
Well my car has been sitting since friday as a back story. Today i turned it on and guess what my rpd reads no fuel pressure at all when i start it. Just reads dashes no numbers or anything. Anyone know what could possibly cause this
The fuel pressure sensor on the rail went bad:

It is pretty easy to get to. Its right above the rail harness connector screwed into the rail itself. Replace it and your prob will be gone....unless its just not connected or the connector became loose LOL
Check it and see if the connections are all good. If so, replace it. When the RPD reads dashes like that, it usually means the FPS is bad. Cause even if the HPFP were bad or somehow the CAM follower roller broke, youd still read FP. Just my two cents

Not really. Its right there on the left end of the rail. I got to it with my wrench. If you dont have a wrench that size then you can snake a set of pliers in there. All you need to do is loosen it, then finish unscrewing it by hand. Its incredible how little pressure it takes to break it loose. I mean, thats how I did mine. Feel free to take the IM off if you feel that is necessary.
I found it to the left of the intake manifold the only real clip area...I took it off and plugged it back in still doing it looks like mine is toast. Do i need to relieve the fuel pressure before i put in a new one im guessing
There could be up to almost 3000psi in the fuel rail after shutting down the car, so ya i'd relieve the pressure if i were you or wait a few hours for it to fall back down. There's also a port on the low pressure side of the fuel line, attach a pressure gauge and see if you get any pressure during cranking.
Sounds like it. Although, that sensor is used by the PCM to do other things with the engine, not just for the display, so if it really wasn't working i'd believe you would get a code and possibly some drivability issues.
For sure. I got a code, other than the dashes on the RPD, because the ECM is seeing that the fuel is constantly way above max PSI since the sensor is not fluctuating the voltage back to the ECM. The car runs perfect...until you try to give it some gas LOL Basically the ECM is in limp mode. Car runs like it was N/A.
i cant drive my car hard anyway no 3rd or 4th gear so ill just have to limp it around..So what do you think could be causing this issue bad sensor or what
Also i have a check engine light to. i only need the car to staturday then it goes into storage till next april may when it will be sent to zzp
