If its been taken care of there ok but dont expect great MPG'S as there heavy and have an underpowered v6 most of the time! Used to drive an 04 with a 3400 V6, If it has more than 80K make sure the intake manifold gaskets have been changed to the updated ones that are NOT paper! No im not kidding... Id test drive it and take it by your local mechanic is serious about buying.. the one i drove was a pile of **** cause of my older bro not taking proper care of it! had no working windows or gauges but the A/C and stereo worked so he drove the **** outta it! Lol

If its the 3800 motor LS impala you will be good just make sure the recall on the motor is fixed. if its the 3.4 Not a fan of those motors.

Same thing happened to by 02 Monte Carlo with the 3400 when I reached that mileage.

But OP, my Monte Carlo, similar car, is a tank in the winter. I've had it for 4 years now and it has over 100,000 miles. The intake manifold was the only serious issue I've ever had.

yeah the guy who has it is a decent friend of mine and he loved it during the winter. its the 3400 motor and has alot of miles. like 130000. but he saids its flawless and i know its his daily driver and he drives quite a bit. i will definitely have it inspected by a mechanic. but even mechanics can't necessarily foresee what is too come haha unfortunately....

intake manifold gasket and head gasket issues. All GM 3800 motors most common issues. Otherwise they're pretty reliable motors.
