IMO if you vote to ban those types of conversations, then you should be banning anything other than car talk.

i vote ban. its a touchy subject. if you want to express you affiliation to a particular political party or candidate put it in your sig like other members have and leave it at that. i personally dont care what your political views are, and i dont want to hear them. in turn i wont tell you mine or speak about them. end of story.

There may be a few people who get hot under the collar and start being mean but I haven't been offended by personal insults or anything like that, i think you have to take it with a grain of salt. I think people get worked up if they aren't used to hearing other points of view. A lot of the guys are younger on here I think it does them some good to learn how to talk with people they don't agree with. I think it would be a knee jerk reaction to ban this kind of coversation, I have a feeling "election" talk would amount to any sort of political discussion at least until after November. How about just putting in the effort to remind people to keep it civil if they are getting ugly.

They need to be banned. They hit the front page too much and deter from the overall quality of the site. Reign SS, quit thinking about and just ban it all,

put a halt on registration and do a complete evaluation of each and every member for integrity followed by a good **** inspection. for a new member to be part of css they should sign a promissory note promising not to talk about politics or risk reighn and braineater coming to there house and giving them some "liquid nightmare".

No. It's not because I LIKE them per say, but banning a discussion on anything that might insight arguing is absolutely rediculous.

If you ban them you might as well ban motivational posters and other such epic threads.

Instead of whining about having to do your job as a moderator and banning people from talking about something... Just do your job! This is the ******* internet! of course there is going to be arguments it's what makes touchy subjects, fun! If it troubles you to have to go lock a thread after people argue, i'll gladly do it for you.

Just my two cents.

eh, i dont think it should be banned. its not like it spills into other threads. unless you see threads about CARS getting jacked and turning into debates is it an actual problem. IMO its fun to argue against people that are intelligent.

i vote ban. just because there are some epic threads that can be had for pure entertainment these political threads that pop up are intended to insight some form of hated for one candidate or the other. that imo is neither epic nor informational. leave the politics and religion to the blogs, i say.

bust out the damn ban stick already.

It's so obnoxious, i hate both candidates, it's the only thing ever on the news anymore

I'm torn, only reason I think it should be banned is because there are SO many topics about it already, and I'm tired of digging around to find the same articles or threads that have already proven my point 93084290 times already. Maybe just one OFFICIAL thread?

i think there should be a section just for politics and the mods should try to keep it all in there and if it gets out of hand just lock it up

but it doesnt matter to me, i NEVER go into the politics threads

the constitution does not really guarantee freedom of speech, it says "congress shall not establish a religion, or abridge free speech" not the exact words, but close enough. it says that congress can't mess with your freedom of speech, technically the states can say "no freedom of speech" and they have the right to do so. CSS.net is a private entity and can limit any discussions it chooses to.

freedom of speech. politics and arguments go hand-in-hand. besides it's good that people express interest in our government.
