If your gonna do this then you might as well shut down the war stories too ryan. They cause more problems than political threads. And we have tried to shut down the war stories area....it didn't fly.

well, banning threads to discuss polictics violates the founding principles of this country, doesnt it? (even though this country no longer stands for all those founding principle anymore....)

stu has a point....i mean if were going to ban these why don't we ban CC08 from posting threads cuz most of his threads end up in the *******, or how bout we ban all threads about girl problems cuz everyone complains about those....i know a lot of people don't like political threads....STAY OUT then....and when they get out of control you lock them just like you would with any other thread that gets out of control.

plain and simple.

CC08 doesn't start it 90% of the time, the immature ******** that can't just leave people alone and have to constantly belittle others.

And I can't just "stay out", I am obligated to review them because I'm a moderator, but they always turn into pissing matches, no one ever changes there mind, and **** just gets out of hand/petty and then locked.

You also have to remember the TOS for the forum when you signed up states: "The owners of Cobalt SS Network reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.” This isn't about your "freedom of speech", this is a private enterprise and the owner of the forum has final say on what gets posted on his server/site that he pays for.

I'm not going to "retaliate" just because we differ in opinions.

the only people that think it should be banned are the people that get butthurt when their opinions get rejected by someone who has a different opinion.

You start paying the server costs and you can start saying whatever you want...

I don't have a problem with other people’s opinions; I have a problem with people that can't argue there opinions and resort to petty attacks/bashing to try and prove there point. Political threads don't change peoples minds they give people the opportunity to talk crap about there opposition and how bad of a job they are doing. Which leads to people getting offended and attacking back, and then things eventually get out of control and locked.

yeah but if you think that happens the same way if someone does a mod and one person thinks its rice and then all hell breaks loose

w/e reign.

you know dam well that its totaly wrong to ban political conversations... alot of good come from them .. people get educated on issues.. issues are brought up that people may have never heard up. it gets people thinking out side the box and possibly get that person off there ass and voting.. or get them to sit back and look at there political stance and realize that they are not aligned with the party that they could be voting for.

you can do what you want.. it doesnt matter. that tends to be the trend on this site..
