don't care about the political threads on here. people that get out of hand in them get warnings/infractions just like any other thread.

I'm sure it goes to paying part of the server costs, but do you have any idea how much a decent dedicated server costs per month to run a forum this sized?

thats all that needs to be done!!

if you got more strict on banning/giving out infractions people would get smart or they would get banned. that solves the majority of the problems right there.

yeah true i am sure its not cheap. But there are a lot of people with premium memberships. For every 100 people there is 1k in cash that goes toward it. But i dont know how much a server costs. But i have been on one forum that they have banned politics. I mean this is most of our lives some people read this stuff on here when they are unable to watch teh news cause they work odd hours and you should know that reign

It's not that simple "warnings/infractions" don't stop a lot of people when it comes speaking what they believe in, and 90% of the time the trouble makers are the ones that have such firm beliefs that your argument is NOT going to change there mind.

For example, no matter how much "evidence" I could show you about how good John McCain would be for president you would still vote for Obama, why because you beleive he is the better choice so why argue about it.

That is exactly my point POTN is no less popular because it doesn't allow religious/political threads, want to know why... THEY DIDN'T JOIN THE FORUM TO TALK ABOUT THAT STUFF; THEY JOINED TO TALK ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY!

I dunno...the maturity level of this forum as a whole sometimes...makes it so we shouldn't talk about different Cobalt trims...remember the SS/NA convos?

Sheesh.
