Hey mods/admins,

Is there an option to disable IMG tags within QUOTE tags, at least as a per-user option in the User CP?

Images could be replaced by URLs so that you can still see the pics if you click on them.

This would squash the classic "OMG STOP QUOTING PICS" complaint you see on most forums, and hopefully speed things up even more around here.

If its not a native feature of vBulletin, surely there is a mod out there that could be installed.

Its simple to do, people just don't know how to do it I guess?

If you don't want pics to show up in a quote or anytime your posting an IMG code then use the

[noparse][/noparse] BB Code

 

The thing is, most people who are guilty of this aren't going to bother using that tag.

We need this applied by default rather than as an opt-in every time someone quotes a post.

If people were just smart enough to NOT QUOTE unnecessarily or to erase the img code.....

 

pic quoting goes hand in hand with huge sigs. Users don't necessarily mean to do it or know that its wrong, but it happens anyway.

 

And they are told and keep doing it....
