Over at forza's website, if you have like under 10 posts, a moderator has to approve your post. I think that would be a good thing over here, since most people cant stand new people and their questions.

All you would have to do is add like a "new member" title to the options under junior and senior.

By filtering new members, its a whole lot easier than banning senior members

sounds like a good idea, they might need to promote some new mods, but that shouldnt be to hard or bad

we would need about 3,000 mods to approve all of the new people

the point isnt that a moderator needs to be on every second of every day to approve the post the second its posted. They have to wait. and if they REALLY want to be a part of this community and not just come here to ask dumb questions, then they will wait and be happy about it.

it shouldn't just be 10 post it should be for you first 15 post or your first 2 month after that your post no longer to need to be approved

and they can still search for stuff it will get rid of alot of pointless posts

It's a good idea, but hard to accomplish because it takes forever to view all the posts.

it would take a few seconds to skim over the post, then click approve. but yes he would have to appoint a few new moderators.

appoint more moderators, or if you dont want to do that, make everyone who is a moderator now, a global moderator, and then appoint a few people who specifically just work on approving posts, the globals can help too, but the majority will be approved by the few specifically put in power to approve them.

honestly this is a good idea...but instead of havinga 10 post requirement which is easy as hell to be had we should the same thing hondatech.com does or any other forum that ive been on...

you have to wait 1-2 weeks from the date u signed up and you cant post in certain sections till your trial date is over... then you have a rating system based on the moderators so forth

I would see it working better if you had a combination of posts and time... for instance I don't post that much I just read alot and search. So if it was like a member that has like 5 posts because he reads and uses the search but has been here for a month or so then it shouldn't effect him. Just my two cents.

But i don't care either way just wanted to throw it out there.

We were all new at one point, all starving for knowledge, yes many senior members may be fed up with it, but thats because i beleive their mod list is exhausted, there is little if nothing more for them to gain but conversation and telling people to hit the "search" button. i know the only reason many of us visit this site is to continue mod their car, i knew nothing about cobalts and still have much to learn, but now i find my self from my own experiences helping others and becoming "knowledgeable"
Senior members will leave, but new people will replace them, yeah it sucks but its just how it is.

Yea I'm a noob...here but I am part of the senior tech team at Camaros net and must admit most of the seniors on this sight are jerks! We treat noobs over there with a welcome spirit. We encourage search but dont jump on them if they don't. I just figured it is an older crowd at Camaro's and we have more patience. You guys need to lighten up or grow up. We should be hear to help the NOOBS!
Just my two cents. ;-)
