What would you like to see in a CSS moderator?

I have been putting together an application for new moderators, but before I release it, I want to hear what you guys feel is important for a member to qualify to be a moderator. Many have PMed me ideas, I just want to open it up for to everyone.
Looking to move on this quickly.

Thank you guys, and I really appreciate your support.
Jony

Someone who actually stays on here, and posts constantly.
Someone who has at least 10 posts a day.

We need people that are level headed and not bias. That is a big problem.

I told you already but I think it bears repeating for the sake of community conversation:

This shouldn't just be about quantity, but also quality. We need people who are contributing members. Since you are assigning moderators to sections, find people that spend more time in certain sections because that's where their knowledge, interest and motivation lies. That way, you're more likely to keep them active and invested.

I know it seems kind of strict, but I think there should also be restrictions on how long they've been here. We need people who are invested in the community, not just people who come along and seem like they fit in. People should have to earn their stripes around here...show their true colors.

Good luck and PM me if you want some recommendations...

This + someone who is also actively on the boards. Posting is not a necessity but I'm not sure how else to track activity

^ This.
Someone who is not so ban happy and gives a warning of sorts of what will happen if something the user is doing, that is deemed inappropriate by them, continues to happen before escalating to a ban.
Someone who will not take things to heart and leave emotion out of their moderating. Currently there is a moderator that DOES NOT do this, and it is a big part of the title. Not bashing him or stating a name, but it is a problem.
Someone who is fair to all parties.
Someone who is beneficial to the site and has pertinent information about the platforms covered by this site. Must have a reputation for not starting e-fights etc etc. Someone who can just bite their lip if someone wants to try and mouth off, knows how to be the better man.

I think that about does it.

people who have been here for a while, have obviously shown they know a good amount about these cars, and will weed out the morons instead of silencing those who try and prove the dipshits wrong. allow some actual USE OF MODERATION

they pretty much summed it up, this site lately has been like a high school class with a substitue teacher(not bagging on CSS.net just giving constructive criticizism) just chaos and with the guys who mean something to the site that got banned for god knows what....like they said before, its the stupid people who come in here with hot heads that screw it up, granted im only 20 ive been a member on here for 2 years since i bought my 06 SS/SC and i admit i get a little immature at times but im not out here cussing people out and stuff and fighting about gay ass ****....because of my enthusiasm of the Cobalts i have purchased my new Cobalt...a 2009 SS/TC Sedan, i will continue to support the site as much as i can but there are the people who bash the site cause of the stupid people...i know we cant get rid of them all but there attitudes need to be changed and monitor the posts more, if there being **** give them a warning and if they dont straiten up give'em the boot. i dont know if any of that made sense but thats my .02.....and even though i dont post alot i am on here all the time....

This whole policy of banning or deleting threads because they say something bad about a supporting vendor needs to stop.

Just because someone is a supporting vendor that doesnt give them the right to say whatever they want, its a double standard. Double standards are why people are leaving this site in large groups.

Maybe you feel these policies have worked or are needed but I would encourage your moderation team to rethink these issues. I think ALOT of it is attitude, the whole holier than thou moderators are the ones that are hated.

I dont believe it should have ANYTHING to do with post count or posts per day... lets be honest, every thread turns into a ***** thread.

My thoughts:
- Someone who has been here for an extended time
- someone level headed
- contributes to the community in a positive way

On a real note, this is a good idea.
