Should I Hand Polish?

I have a summit white cobalt, keep it in really good condition. Wash by hand regularly, clay bar and wax it. It always has a great shine too it. Even under direct sunlight the paint looks smooth and rich. However at night under the street light, you can see those inevitable swirl marks. I dont own a high speed polisher and dont want to fork out the cash for one, or pay someone to polish my car, as its probably not even necessary. But I have never tried polishing by hand. Anyone have experience with products like Meguairs Ultimate Polish? If I were to just rub that in by hand after a good claying, and before waxing would it clear up all these minor surface swirl marks?

I use Turtle Wax Premium grade Polishing Compound. It's excellent for exactly what your talking about. I use by hand also as I dont have a buffer, it just takes longer but I get great results.
