Alright so I and a new member to the Arkansas clan (Redline4)have a few Ideas for a meet, and this will be an open thread for any ideas for anyone in the local area to have some input. But consider this idea a foundation to build some ideas on.

The Place:
Newport Arkansas at Newport drag strip on the old airbase.
Newport Raceway is a 1/8 mile dragstrip located north of Newport, Arkansas. This track appears to use a runway and/or taxiway on an old air field. Observe the burnout marks on the left (west) end of the taxiway in the terraserver snippet linked to below. There are also marks on the main runway, but these are not so distinct.

sounds good and its across the street from my sons house too. plus Im getting married later that week so I need a road trip away from the g/f one last bacherlor time.

Yea we need to get more people that interested. If we get enough people me and jared are actually going to talk to the newport people about getting a special event just for us so we could have the track to ourself that day...

ill try cant make any promises due to work and alot of people getting married in august so i may be using my vacation days going to weddings

Does anyone else have a good idea for another place to meet to make it easier for everyone? Im actually planning on calling newport drag strip to see how many people does it take to consider us a club so we can have our own special event. We like newport but it looks like only 4 people is up for the drive including me and jared.

Here is a few places I've considered

Jonesboro - Easy for most people to reach
Newport - Has a drag strip for people to use
Little Rock - Possibly more people will turn up to a meet in little rock
Memphis - Has a drag strip lol.
....

Fail? Yes. But I'm still going. anyone else that comes...we'll call it a meet. There's just not engouh money, time and cobalts anymore...especially in this area.

Nearest 1/4 mile is MMP but that's just a too far drive for little strip time. I went one night on a kinda busy night and I only got 3 runs on almsot 4 hours.

 

Yep, they did Jared is my proof I think my color was a "special" color.

Btw, Jared I think we have two ss/sc in the town... A silver one and another red one like Jasons. Both stock wheels.
