Post 09 GM lonestar bash ideas

ok...need to run this buy you guys ..
still trying to plan ideas for next years bash..
would anyone still attend if it was a 2 day event???
the first day would involve a testntune at san antonio raceway 1/4 track...afterparty of course ..and the next day would be all show in austin
this would mean staying over night for some...and for those that didnt want to race wouldnt need to come till the next day...if thats what they want....do you guys think this would cause LESS people to attend? or would this still be something of interest? i need some feed back..
thanks,
centexcc

I'm hearing the same thing on our team forum from one or 2 people. The majority like the idea of a 2 day event though. If it were up to me I'd stay for a 2 day event. It'd be like a mini-vacation. I love getting away and renting a nice hotel and having some fun.

thats a good idea...plus th is way we dont have to cram everything into one day, i know when we were at temple there were alot fo people that wanted to race, and couldnt b/c they were to busy waiting for their cars to be judged, plus san antonio raceway is way better than temple

we should have some activities like tricycle racing, make it like a tournament(cities vs. cities) or something spread it out through the day

You always have some cool ideas for the bash lol. I think last year you might have mentioned RC cars races at the bash but it didnt happen. Somebody needs to take charge and get some of these 'extra curricular' activities done. It would be a blast and it would help give all the different teams a chance to interact with one another a little bit more than previous Bashes.

what we NEED is for more of the deltas to actually SHOW UP..i know we had ALOT more out there this year than last time...but i know i saw over 40 some members list their names on the state meet list...but only about 1/4 of them came to bash..even though the bash was ORIGINALLY designed to be a state meet...maybe they dont like winning trophys, maybe they dont like racing, ..i dont know what they do other than that but i guess i gotta figure it out if i want to get them there huh hahaha
and yes mark im doing my best to get more activities out there for you guys

Word is that temple is much better now... Got hit by a tornado and is under new ownership? One can only hope.

It got hit by a tornado in may... They have since rebuilt it to an extent. I haven't been there so I can't vouch for anything. I just heard through the grapevine that it was in better condition - I'm hoping that means the track itself is improved.

They need to fix all the ugly gravel paths that are right before and directly after the dragstrip. Your tires get covered with hundreds of tiny pebbles and sand every time you make a run.

i think 2 days would be fine. cause people trying to race and show like last time was difficult. Plus the track sucked, so definetly should be an actual 1/4mile track and preferably we should be racing at night so it aint 100 degrees outside! and maybe better organization? mainly the whole judging trauma, and activities (maybe a DJ) would be cool.

aww yeah I like the idea of having a DJ. Maybe somebody here would like to donate a few hours of their time in exchange for some free advertising and publicity time You will get exposure to a couple hundred people from the Central TX area
