what are you guys trying to do, make it exculsive to you guys down there. What about us DFW guys?
this show was originally designed as a state wide meet...and has since turned into a show/track day ..open to all of you accross the state...however you dallas guys never really seemed to anxious to contribute and come show...2 years in a row weve had the show and been a success every year..but we usually get our bigger groups from houston, and austin..wish more of you northern texas guys would come out!

and maybe better organization? mainly the whole judging trauma
i was unaware we had organization and judging trauma...plz elaborate ...
everyone told me the judge was pretty thorough and fair..what happened??

I like the idea of the 2 day meet thing. Scott can we run polls on basically every forum and just tally up the totals and make a decision based off of that. Pick one person from each board who can use a default set of options that u set up and post em on each board. Then we can submit all the results to be tallied up for the final decision.
so basically

cobaltss.net
jbody.org
centexcc.com
gmofsa.com
the dfw guys ( sorry cant remember the name)
ecotecforum.com
clubcav.com
houston's site

and anyother's i cant remeber

aybe we can get out little sky redline buddy to help us out with the solstices and sky and dallas people really dont like coming down here, like its really a bigger drive thatn what the houston peole make, its almost the same distance...2 years now the show has been a success, and we always have fun, and i to go for a 2day thing, cuz racing at SAR at night is always better, and maybe we can it closer to the beggining of the year, so we can have it as cold as possible...cold weather, track...always a good mix

I think what the earlier poster meant by 'judging trauma' was that some cars were divided into classes kinda funny. But I dont think we could fix that much considering there were not many pre-registries. We need more pre-registries next year so we can add more classes and make it easier to divide cars into their proper classes.

Also, DFW should not be complaining about the location. The central TX guys have been hosting events like this for years. I've been going to them since 2003. If you really wanted something to take place in the DFW area it would be as easy as planning it and making it happen. Hell, we'll show up

The Houston group is planning a Galveston cruise in November. That's a good example of another regional group planning a Texas-wide event of their own.

we tried to make it central for the 3 major cities for a rather "small" state. temple though not the best track, was the most willing to practaly give us our own day and do about whatever we wanted (bbq, bring drinks, have sound off,etc)w/o any extra cost other than regular entry fee. any bigger tracks wont give any discounts or our own day w/o a high price tag. every city wants it in there area and most are willing to drive wherever it is. i will agree the dfw area has taken awhile to catch the number of the other cities that show up at the bash. i cant hardly get any one from the cobaltss site to go though they want monthly meets and at a track. ennis would be an awsome track. but prolly cost alot to have our own day and/or we would have to share the track with alot of other people. temple theres hardly any one else out there other than us. ive been working on sponsors but its hard to get interest from them if we dont have bigger numbers showing up. if we get bigger numbers showing up than sponsors will pay for more of the cost and that will give us more options. we have received several items to give away but if a sponsor doenst see any interest in their side than its not worth them giving us stuff since they just lose money. thats the whole point of sponsors they give stuff or pay for things hoping some will use them so they make some money on the backend. im hoping to get some support from mequiars next year.

on the show side.
classes were somewhat messed up since not alot preregistered. he can only create classes based on entries paid. he gets some really nice trophys that he has to order before the event. so the more that preregister the more classes he can have. if not than he has to make less classes and some may not be happy with the class they are put in, but he can only work with what he has that preregistered. only 5 balts register he cant have a street, mild, and wild class. it will be one cobalt class or thrown into another class based on if they are wild or street class to try to even it out. so more less more need to PRE-register so he can create more classes.

hope this explains it more.....

sponsoring for only thropies, aww its a start...now if only we coud get someone to sponsor the track but hey a start is a start...so does this mean we have 3 classes per platform? 3 trophies per class?? sure hope so...anyway thank you mystery sponsor, you know who your are and as far as location, we centex people dont have a choice, we have to be there, so dont think we just pick cities close to us, hell if we had the bash in el paso i would make the drive there...we need to get this settled for, i was going to talk 2 section8cav about seeing if we could get it done while its still cold, maybe beggining of the year...cold weather+track=badass...plus its better in the cold, you get to hot you put more clothes on, start to heat up take a layer off, but in the sun, there is no defense, its hot no matter what, hell im still burned from texas heatwave

it is not just jbodies and deltas....i have a class for kappas(skys and solstice) and fieros as well...basically any gm COMPACT car...
and darrion while i still believe that opening the show up to GM rwd cars would indeed make the show a MUCH bigger success , i still believe that it would lose its appeal to the compact crowd, in which it was originally designed for and catered to....i want to give you guys a show JUST FOR YOU .... if i was just trying to make money i would invite all cars...but this a non profit show and is mostly put on by volunteers ....so until i actually make money off it somewhere im going to keep its focus on YOU GUYS cus YOUR the ones that support it..........
3rd year and running! lets make this years show even bigger !!

There are plenty of muscle car shows and meets that the RWD cars can go to. That is what makes this one so special. This is the only major TX event that is exclusively for GM 'sport compact.' I can drive down the road to the big local muscle car meet if I wanted to hang out with a bunch of vettes and f-bodies I love those cars like that but it's much more special when you get to hang out with people who mod the same type of car, engine, suspension that you do.

scott, wherever you want to have it is fine with me. A 2 day event also gives you options as far as whether you want to have the show in the same location as the racing. Speaking of giving options, have you thought about hosting the show part indoors? Not saying I'm trying to move it to Houston or anything, but I know we have convention centers that let you host events like car shows and stuff like that. Just thought I'd give you an idea.

itll cost more than we take in..remember, this is a NONprofit event..all the money i reviece from entries goes to awards..it would take a TON of sponsors to get somthing like that
