Hey guys, its almost that time of year again. I have to start planning for next years bash, and while i have my own ideas i would like to hear from you guys, since YOU are the ones that make this a great meet every year.
First of all i just wanna let you know since last year was our first time at Ennis motorplex there was alot that was out of my control....like the date, they gave us the best date they could considering they had never hosted the bash before and had no idea how many people would actually show up.
Second was parking, i would really like to park ALL the cars together in some way, instead of seperating them across the lot like last time.

Also, next year i would like to offer "axle insurance" . i want to have at least one of each axle on hand at the show and the tools needed to install them. and for an extra 5-10$ if you break an axle on the track centex will install another one for you! so for all those that plan on traveling a good distance wont have to worry (as much) about being stranded.

i would also like to greatly shorten the judging and change up the awards so any ideas you guys have plz post it up. remember, this show is for You, so making it happen the way you want is my first concern.

- no cold weather
- make sure who pays to race gets to race and not have the track person assume on honesty vs a ticket.

i like the idea of having the basic parts that could break down there. for the balts you may want about 4-5 axles since i think 3 balts broke their axles. also when you say each is that stock and the GM stage 2 axle? is the $5-$10 idea for each person or just whoever wants to buy the insurance? then if a person decided not to buy the insurance(if it is per person) and they break an axle how much would it be w/install?
love the idea none-the-less.

bikini contest

seeing about GM representing out there. maybe one of the local dealerships bringing their performance tralior out there. see about the slim possibilites of the attack balt coming out there.

as far as the axles..only the people that WANT the insurance would have to pay it...and it would be a prepaid price....if you didnt get the insurance and you break an axle and want ours you would have to pay full price...and no..im not getting stage 2 or anything like that ..it would simply be a stock replacement so that you could get home..the idea of the insurance is not to keep repairing cars, but to make sure people can drive their cars home and not tow them. and obviously i cant get 20 axles...ill see just how many i can get but it will basically be a first come first serve if you brake down...any other parts i should have on hand?

love the axle idea wish we had that last year could have save time and money but other then that i think that will has got it down cant wait

 

hey scott i had another idea i wanted to mention. you have best jbody, best delta, and best kappa classes. how about you add a 'best other gm' class? you could group any other random gm's that may show up and want to compete like berettas, g6's, aleros, or any other gm even if its not a compact. i doubt it would change the face of the show much. 95% of the cars will still be compacts, cobalts or cavys.

but seriously though, I would like to see a sound competition if there's any interest in that. Or if all else fails, I'll go with bikini contest too, lol.

 

we had a sound competition the first 2 years.....the 1st year was OK...the second year only 2 people signed up all day so the guy didnt really make any money..hence why he wasnt there last year lol...would be more than happy to set someone up if you know a guy ?

 

did you guys pass out flyers for the past shows? you should try to promote the show more to attract more spectators. do it like import faceoff and have folks pass out flyers for moniez.

If you need a flyer i can make it for you, i used to make flyers for my buddie and i's parties we used to throw. Can make a 4x5 or something smaller, i also know a printer that will print pretty cheap, may be cheaper just to get a small amount printed from kinkos though. maybe a little bigger than a business card or something.

If you do have a bikini contest plz schedule it at a time when the cobalts can all be off the track and watching, it annoys the hell outta me when i compete at an event and the finals for my class are at the same time as the bikini contest, and maybe a fastest pass trophy or prize for the cobalts and stuff that are making passes or something

also maybe have a peoples choice trophy!!! Those that registered a car to show or race get to vote for their favorite car but the catch is they can't vote for a car thats from their hometown.

 

i reeeeeeally like the idea of giving awards for the fastest cars at the track. It would make racing a lot more fun to watch if it was elimination style

 

1. i honestly think dallas motor speedway is alot better choice, nice parking lot and even better track prep. closer to me obviously

2. maybe end of summer to fall time, not cold or windy.

3. maybe a mobile dyno i doubt it but it would be awsome

4. vendors that would show up this time, alot of trifecta dealers in the dfw area now, show up and do some on site tuning after each run

5. i cant remember was the track only open to css members or affiliated site members?

6. real car show, more than 20 cobalts and 6 cavaliers

7. ill come up with something else to bitch about and i dont even have a cobalt

1.i need a better reason that"its closer to me" to move it there. ennis gave us all the parking we needed , and just about anything else we wanted..dallas raceway would have to beat that..not to mention i believe ennis is closer to the MAJORITY of the people that show up .
2. time is usually dependant on the track..they set the date..i have to work with what i got.
3. i offered to bring a mobile dyno last year...but no one seemed interested, and im not paying that much money to bring something out that only 2 people will use.
4. trifecta was there last year, doing lots of tuning and retuning...what other vendors would you like out there that you would actually buy something from onsite?
5. lonestarbash is a state wide meet for ANY gm compact, and maybe more in the future
6. 20 cobalts and 6 cavaliers? there were 25 cobalts in street class alone last year, about 40 or so that entered all together..and thats not counting the ones that came to race..same goes for the Jbodies and kappa bodies that were there. remember, this event is a chance to compete against people from accross your area every year in show and race...once a year you get bring out your car and prove who has the faster or better looking car ! and in classes that You help build.

ennis is in the middle so its perfect, its too bad we cant just have the track to ourselves, have cheaper food stands there lol, have vince go again if not our local dfw trifectia tuners can go, insurance for whoever breaks an axel(i didnt) and we need to promote it more because alot of people didnt know about it till the last second. i mean if we have guys in h-town and the deeffdub that have alot of ss's we need to spread it out to like myspace,facebook,twitter,etc and finally have a best modded cobalt,calv,sky,solistice,vetra,etc and best stock...just my 2cents

 

scott u need a better sig lol, looking back i cut a lot of corners when i made that one lol and as far as suggestion, i vote for trophies for track runs...faster ss/sc, ss/na, non ss, eco j, non eco j, etc etc

awards for fastest cars is good...i can do that...something better than a pillar trophy maybe ? a plaque? gold cup? cash award ?

I personally would do one fastest overall, and then 1 per body time, i probably wouldnt break it down into motors, too many possibilities, just my .02, that and alot of money will get you coffee @ Starbucks
