blew an injector at 19k miles! CRAZY

So my car is now only getting 200 miles per tank and i was like what the **** it might be a fuel pump but it turns out i had a blown injector. At least the dealer is replacing on warranty. He tried to tell me its a known issue in cobalts. WTF

There was a recall by GM about the injectors failing on the 2.2.

did u feel a noticeable difference or just noticed the difference in ur fuel economy? ur injectors might have not been failing, just not rated to the factory specs of the car so they replaced them. Its not like you had one stop working or something... did they replace all of them?

Yea I had that happen to me also it was about when I had 15k on my car. The engine light came when i went on long highway runs. In the city it would turn off. I went to the dealer and they replaced it for me also under warranty.

you cant notice any difference but the gas mileage sucks. I have to go back tuesday and there replacing all of them. I so bad want to upgrade my injectors but i cant because i am a 2007 2.2. It sucks no one has hacked the automatic yet.

I get 200 miles to a tank now is all for the last 2 weeks. It sucks. I still go 2 weeks though on 1 tank of gas since i only live 3 miles from work which is nice.

I think this is just a start for me with breaking **** and once i get my catback exhaust on, my header i ordered from ebay and my soon nitrous kit i think i will be breaking more stuff, lol.

well car is at the dealer today since 7an and they gave me a trailblazer 2008 to drive and i hate it. Its way too big of a suv in my opinion. They told me my car was idiling rough too so there will look into that. Still no call yet and it cant take them that long to change out injectors.

well the job only pays 1.0 hours for the tech to do it..and that INCLUDES the reprograming that follows the injector change...if its taking more than an hour they either didnt have the parts instock and have to get them from another dealer or they are stalling...find out which one..
i did one this morning and it took me all of about 30 minutes to do the whole job

Doesn't a recall mostly pertain to safety issues? Most parts issues become TSB's and the dealer never tells you about those openly.

Well there is still a problem with my car with the gas mileage. So the last full tank of gas running in b&m shift stage 1, i only got 185 miles. The dealer told me i will need to fill up my tank again to see it go to 300 miles per tank but i just filled up this morning and it says 205 miles for a full tank of gas.

So i put 11.5 gallons of gas in and i will get 190 miles to the tank = 16.5 miles per gallon,
(all city driving <45mph)

Would driving under 45 miles mph 3 miles to work each way really make my gas mileage go that low.
