I'm not real confident in Speedtek. My Dyno reading there varied by a good 30 HP from the first reading and the last reading. Not just that, but in talking to all the people that were at the shop the day I dynoed, most people were disappointed with their runs and indicated that they appeared to be a good 20-30 HP lower than most other dyno shops. If you DO decide to go with Speedtek, they do have a $35 Dyno day that's the last saturday of every month. You can probably find other shops that will give you a deal similar to that as well. Oh and you may want to wait for cooler weather to get a better reading although if you have it SAE corrected it shouldn't be much of a factor.

when i went to speedtek i was dissapointed as well. there was 2 other STOCK s/c cobalts and they were running right around the 200-205ish horse power range. i have exhaust and the K&N filter replacement, and it was showing me right at 200 horse power???

Exhaust if GMPP is only gonna get you a net gain of about 4hp 1lb/ft and a filter replacement will not give you any more power but just quicker throttle response. The problem everyone has with Speedtek is that they use a Mustang Dyno I believe. Mustang Dynos show a more street true WHP then a Dynojet. Dynojet is good if your trying to impress your buddies but its not a true WHP.

Also as far as the other cobalts they wouldn't happen to be 07's and your an 05 would they? Gm claimed all three Trims of the cobalt received a 5 - 10hp gain in the 07 models.

GM underrated the LSJs from the get go. Rumors went everywhere from "GM didn't want to step on SAAB's toes since they're practically the same motor save the turbo/supercharger swap" to "GM underrated the motor because the target demographics would take a larger hit on insurance premiums with a higher rated engine". So it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they tried to come out with the actual HP rating and made it seem as if they made improvements in order to push more cobalts out the door.

My Dyno sheet from Speedtek actually has "Dynojet" across the top so unless they use spare parts of a Dynojet for their printer/software portion of the Dyno then its definitely a Dynojet. Either way, their readings seemed a little inconsistent.

HHP is good when they arent being rude trying to throw you off early so they can dyno their shop twin turbo mustang.

When I went to ATS the guy that was there was nice and we were able to the the car up on the dyno without a problem. They are a really small shop though, so it might be worth calling ahead to let them know that you are coming and want to get a dyno (i didnt though).

I think it was $60 to get on the dyno for three runs... I have a video of one of the runs, link is in my sig labeled 'went to the dyno'

This is almost exactly how I feel about RPM. My 2 experiences, 1st one when I had my LSJ Saturn, they seemed disinterested in dynoing something with a 4 cylinder. Then with my GTO, went with Mines_Better and they actually had us sit and wait for about 45 minutes while they all went out to lunch. They probably would've made us wait longer, but we blew out of there after about 45 minutes and decided to go to another shop called Matchless Performance in the Carrollton area. I actually managed my best readings there and there was also a bunch of tuner cars in the garage.
