el paso thread
Well, i bought it in January 2005. it had to original engine in it from 79' Obviously ididnt look the car over good enough. i bought it for 6,400 and in march the engine blew. totally seized. so i spent about 2,500 - 3,000 getting most the stuff under the hood back up and running. its in jersey because in June 2005 i went to korea so i had it transported from el paso to jersey for my parents to watch it. after i got back from korea i just never brought it back. I just dont have the time to take care of it, which is sad because its a nice car. it doesnt deserve to be neglected. I love american muscle but it doesnt make sense to me to spend time and money on this car when it isnt my dream car. I want a 72 or 73 charger. Anyway, the problems with it... One day when i was driving it in the rain i hydro-planed into the back of a pick up. it didnt do any real damage i was going slow. it was just a little bump, but there is paint chipped on the front from it. the driver window is off track so the door needs to be taken apart to fix it. the paint by the window is chipped away from the glass rubbing it since its not aligned. the seals all need to be replaced around the wndow and T-tops. Its not water tight, believe me i learned that the first time i tried to take it through a car wash. Its been under a car tarp to keep water out. the dash and center console have cracks in them. they could be replaced. the speedometer is pretty far off, it needs to be adjusted or replaced. the biggest thing is the transmission. it needs a new one, big time. it still drives, but not as smooth as it should. you can feel the tranny hanging in there. thats the main big problems.. i would probably repaint it. the paint isnt that bad but im really picky with paint so i think it needs to get redone.
Also for everyone else in El Paso, i need recommendations for the best shop here now a days. I have a lot of parts above my level that i need installed. And please dont say Speed Factory, their work is by far sub-standard...

negative. ive seen their work. i refuse to go there... my ex-room mate has an evo mr he had a new clutch installed there. they fuked it up hardcore, he had tranny fluid leaking everywhere. it was some really shoddy work...
oh yeah, and they refused to fix it unless he paid more so he just took it to the dealer...

if they messed it up have the dealer show that they messed it up and the have no choice to fix it trust me that happend to texas boombox with me when they installed my LED underglows they messed my wiring up so they had to fix it well the dealership did $400 to fix then i walked out of texas boombox with 2 12' kicker comps lol for free hahah
well all in all they were free lol and i didnt have to pay for them so i sold my old ones and insane hwang, lol his name is hilarious hahahah and i mean if they did a shitty install job that caused sumthing to go wrong they are liable for that.
true but that doesnt mean they will take care of it.
i know a customer who had his gas tank drilled into and the shop in el paso that did it told him it was to expensive for them to cover it so he was **** out of luck. Not sure if he perused legal action

When i got my system installed at audio express they screwed up my wiring and my air conditioner didn't work. When i took it back they said it was a pinched wire or some crap like that. I knew it was a bullshit excuse but they fixed it is all i cared about.
if u provide proof to them showing them that there installers messed sumthing up they have no choice but to fix it only if u have proper proof like i had i showed them exactly where they messed up and they had no choice that and the old calling a lawyer thing always helps lol
