Meeting up in the mall parking lot was a blast. Everyone seemed to get along well and we had an awsome turnout. Was good seeing some new faces and some old.

Dinner was fun. Would have loved to hang out have a few more drinks perhaps and just chill. Seemed the thing to do but we had previous plans for speedzone.

Speedzone... it had been ages since i had gone to speedzone. And it will defanitly be ages before I choose to go again. The place was packed. We had to make sure we had the parking lot reserved didn't have an attendant or any signage not to mention the unlimited play cards while handy... were dissapointing for those of us that were not interested in driving gocarts. The ticket games were not included on the cards. The non ticket games selection was dissapointing. And I am thinking that the person that made the reservations got the short end of the stick on eating reservations costs and that SUCKS! If we need to pool money for you or something let me know. I will defanitly chip in a few more bucks than the 10 over I did. I am sure we will get other volunteers.

So I had a good time overall. But next time I would not choose speed zone. I vote for somewhere like Dave and busters. We have enough of us to get those of us under 18 in without much problem. The food is adequate and the games are plentiful. And I bet if we call ahead and let them know we got a group of 35 for dinner. They will arrange whatever they need to to accomidate everyone. And NOBODY for this crew should be putting a 700 dollar charge on there credit card for game cards. Ok? You guys are nice and all but that is just really unreasonable in my opinion.

Heh... that's what I get for making a post after watching some dennis miller rants.


But seriously I had a great time. I would do it again if it is what we were doing. But I most defanitly would not choose speedzone. Just... too many attitudes in that place for me (being one of the old fogies of this forum really.) to find a place to hang and chill. Perhaps that is expecting too much of a place called speedzone?

Anyway here is hoping to be able to make the next one... sigh.... even if it is at Speedzone again.

 

The evening was fun, but there were some key points where I was disapointed. Mostly at Pappasitos.

Point Blank the service sucked. Worst I had ever seen. It doesnt take 45 mins to refill a glass of beer, or get a full pitcher of Dr. Pepper. We made the reservation got 30+ people, they should have been staffed for that event, Not suprised that we showed up.

Anyways, Dude...you flipped $700 for those game cards? Jeez I hope everyone payed you back for all that.

 

I know that I was confused when we first got in there with the cards that we bought. I thought that they ripped home boy off. They were good though and the night was fun for me and my son. Pappasitos did suck *****, and I am one to always tip....not last night. Dont ask for tortillas, that dude brought three plates of tortillas and then through them on the table...ASS. I wont be going back there anytime soon. There are other places to do meets as stated above. I can't wait for the next one.

Well guys, overall I have to say I agree with you. But I still had a supreme blast with everyone and getting to meet a lot more people than the last meet. Yes pappasito's gave us the short end, and speedzone was a bit lacking, but overall it was still fun. Not many of us stayed real late, but those that did we went up to IHOP later on and just chilled for about another hour or so just talking and sharing some stories. I'm totally looking forward to the next meet.

 

Grim and Elric, I am sorry you did not enjoy speedzone. I could have made other arrangements for you if I was aware you were not interested in the carts. For the record- My credit card was NOT CHARGED for our reservation last night. Originally that is there SOP but the sales manager and group event guy were VERY Understanding and we ended up getting an AWESOME DEAL!!! Personally, I got about 50 dollars worth of entertainment for the 30 dollar price plus the extra 2 hours we all have after Tuesday. I was amazed at what they did for us. One more point- ANYTHING we do on Saturday night is going to be busy.

 

Oh I ain't knockin Speedzone Kory. The wifeytype had a blast and that alone made it more than worth it. I was just bummed I couldn't own at the prize games! :P
