Hey Evan, Jim called today and was curious how things are going. I'm going to try to get him out there. He's had that Stage I plus the Pulley and the K & N CAI and hasn't even been to a meet since his upgrades. He says he's getting CELs though during cold Start-ups. Maybe Vaughn can bring his code reader. Is this meet going to be limited to LSJ cars? I may be able to scrounge up a few Goats and F-bodies if "the more the merrier" does apply.

 

This is not a LSJ meet..... It is a American Tuner Car meet. Anything Domestic can show up. Imports also but they better not be ricers.

BTW excellent work on teh flyer johnboy....... Its almost exactly what I had invisioned when I started this thing.

Thanks for the complement BlackedOutCoby. I'm pretty surprised at how it turned out, it was the first graphic design thing I've ever really tried.

i should be able to make it out there. when we had jbody meets there couple of the security was cool with us being there as long as there werent complaints or burning out, doing dounuts, etc the usually stuff punk teens do to ruin it for everyone. other security asked us to leave since we couldnt be there after the mall closes but they were nice about it.

tell your friends to be respectful of the meet. thats why ricekillers has had to move so many times because of the jerks that come out showboating and screw it up for everyone. all it takes is one!

 

Hopefully the security will be cool long enough for everyone to get there. I know when i was forced to ask people to leave, I tried to be cool about it and not like escort people off or anything. Time for karma to come around!

 

You need to make the discount tire stand out mor on the flier. It is hard to see right now.

Is anyone bringing their other half?
I updated the flier. Increased the jpeg quality so that the colors would be better... Also tried to make the discount tire stand out more, and increased the size of the date/time.
I'm thinking of changing this up, if this will be weekly, so that there would be one flier per month, with all the dates and whatnot on one. Any chiming in?

 

If we can agree on the location not changing than all the dates per that month can be added. I know the talk recently was an alternating location, I don't know if that is still the case.

 

Damn, I'd love to come down, but Sunday that late is no good....Anymore planned before the end of Feb?

 

That poster's looking good. I'm definitely going to try to make it out there. I know of another fellow GTO-er that says he'll also try to make it out and bring some Firebird/Camaro/Mustang buddies of his. What's the exact time of the meet? I can probably meet closer to 7:00ish, but if someone wants to meet earlier for photo shoots and eats, that'll work too.

I've spoken with Japeatr, he suggested Bass Pro Shops down the road as a back-up location incase Mall Security doesn't want us there at 7:00pm.

Sounds like there might be quite a bit of people showing up to this thing. I'm glad everyone likes the flier/poster thing that I made up. I'm working on an idea for a Feb flier right now. I'm going to show up ~6:00PM, so if anyone else wants to show early, please do.

 

Well, the conversation is good but whether people actually show up is another thing

 

There are definitely 5 confirmed (3 Cobalt SS, 1 Ion Redline, and 1 GTO) going. I may have 1 other GTO that may bring some F-bodies and some Mustangs to the mix. Japeatr was concerned about possible Precip tomorrow. If there is some rain, there is a Main Event down 114 and some other options in that 114 corridor. I'm thinking we'll have a decent turn out.

 

I'm excited about it. I think it would be awesome if what started as a 4 man Cobalt group (I am an original member) turns out to be an all-American car meet.

May try another meet next Saturday or the Saturday after that. An old Ion Redline member is moving back to the Dallas area. If the cops don't grab him first, we'll try to do another meet. (inside joke btw)

So we've got, what, 20+ people showing up tomorrow? Awesome! I'm going to be there at 6. I'm working on a Feb. flier that we could try and pass around with some more time before the actual meet. I'll post what I've got up here shortly to get some feedback.
