If its done properly they dont hurt at all.
in fact there is less glare than even a normal halogen.

Heres what HID lighting should look like (note: this is even below the cutoff, where all the lighting is. drivers on the road dont even see nearly this much light)

and BTW: the bitch who neg repped me without having the sack to name yourself....**** you
you have no IDEA how much time i spend sending PMs to people helping with projectors/retrofits/HIDs

I dare anyone to get a photo directly in their headlight beam with stockers that has less glare than that.

That's a cool look there! Did you modify stock housings to put the projectors in or is that a totally different setup?

then all the lexus, bmw, benz's are done wrong because they all still hurt like **** when they flash up, infact i saw lexus on my way home and i thought, oh wow that guy does not have projectors but as i got closer he did, now dont get me wrong i love projectors i wish i had time to retrofit some like yours because they are beautiful but i also think they are still super bright no matter what, you just get much better output with projectors, and some cars really cant have just HID's in their stock lights but some cars like the cobalt, its not that bad

it might just be that your eyes are very sensitive to light. my gf always thinks someone has their highs on. people tend to flash me sometimes when the road is bumpy but other than that i rarely get flashed.

Okay smart ass everybody knows what I mean by the Po Po (Police, law/traffic enforcement officers) and 2ndly im just tired of everybody causing arguments about HID's in stock housings when frankly I dont think many people care about what people on here have to say b/c its what they like and that is all that matters to them. I can understand where they are coming from, some people here try to act like the "Dad" and tell them to take it off instead of suggesting that they should switch to a projector housing(im not saying anybody but alot of people do it)

nah man. its not "what they like"

the choice to do HIDs in stock housing has 100% to do with doing it on the cheap.

why pay hundreds to do it properly when i can buy some cheap ass knockoff **** from ebay for $99 and still get my pretty blue lights?

theres a word for modding like that.
and its part of a major food group.

I agree but when people try to "tell" them what to do is where it gets me, but non the less nice new lights an0malous, I would like to do something like that but I just love my projectors and w/ working and going to school its kinda hard to find time, but what type of camera do you capture with?

i have a canon powershot S3IS really nice little camera.
but after seeing the pics rob took with his 10mp Nikon SLR, im wantin one of those bad lol.

I know im pushy when it comes to HIDs man, but the only reason I am is because its literally dangerous on the roads.

theres also another reason, which not many people know about.
there is a division now of motor transport dedicated to reporting accidents and incidents caused by "those bright blue lights"
theres a hotline and a website for it, and they are attempting to prove to the lawmakers that they should be a banned product outright.

every time someone passes a car with them glaring like a bastard, it gives the rest of us who did it properly a bad name.

not to bring this back from the dead, but how bout you just paint some big ass eyelids on your stock headlights to reduce the glare...

theres tons of vehicles that come with HIDs.
the HID itself isnt the problem. its people cheaping out, or not understanding how they work and
incorrectly putting them in a halogen reflector housing.

notice how all the vehicles you listed use projectors?

ahem...wow...take another look. Acura's; the TL's and such, came with HID's in regular housings, as well as the Maxima before they changed the body style. the 02-03 Max's had halogen housings with HID's. There are other vehicles too, but I dont have the time to sit here and go over it.

Look, just paint some big ass eyelids on the front that cover half the lense so there is no extreme glare other than down and be done with it.

It is possible (though rare) to have a HID bulb in a reflector housing, but they are generally engineered specifically to handle the different light output.
a reflector built to handle HIDs is different to one made only to handle halogens.
Our cobalts have Halogen reflectors. Not engineered to handle HID lighting.
which is why it glares light all over the place.

If your going to use the Maxima HID relfector headlights, you need to use the Maxima HID reflector. Do not put HID bulbs in your standard halogen reflector.
why is this? I've been wondering....
they blind the hell out of everybody
why are we still asking these questions around here?
*chuckle*

this is true. those reflector housings with HID's from the factory were specifically engineered to handle the HID lights.
