Hopefully its just going to be some wind and alot of rain. I really cant ever imagine my home being destroyed and have my family with no where to go. You never really think of it until it actually happens to you.

Yeah. When I was down there we dodged a HUGE bullet. Homes all around us got flooded. Our pool almost flooded, but all was well. The only reason that I didn't leave was they told me they wouldn't allow my animals to come with me.

At the time I had a dog and a ferret.

I lived briefly in Copperfield (northwest, right off of highway 6 near 290). Only stayed there a year and a few summers in between school then moved back home to Pittsburgh.

Keg party sounds fun. I say sit out side and drink. That's your best option.

Im in Galveston atm fixin to leave for Kingwood. House is boarded and irreplaceables packed. PLEASE for the sake of those in danger, anyone further than 20-30 miles from the coast stay put! DO NOT get on the highways because Houstonians caused all the traffic problems and evacuation deaths during Rita while freaking out and scrambling out of the city. Please listen to your Harris County Judge:
"We are still saying: Please shelter in place, or to use the Texas expression, hunker down. For the vast majority of people who live in our area, stay where you are. The winds will blow and they'll howl and we'll get a lot of rain but if you lose power and need to leave, you can do that later."

^^^^TRUE THAT. If you didnt leave, then just board up your house and get everything you need NOW. If you have 100's of people on the HWY at the peak of the storm, thats only asking for disaster.

I thought Houston and everyone had a Mandatory evacuation. I was just watching the news 15 mins. ago and they were talking about that ****. anyways, be safe. I'm even bracing for the storm and i live in san marcos. haha... but i'm not going crazy like some of these people stocking up on water and ****. lines in wal-mart in san antonio were crazy, same with new braunfels. it was ridiculous.

THE ONLY REASON I WOULD THINK THAT PEOPLE OVER THERE WOULD STOCK UP, IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE ALL THESE PEOPLE COMING FROM THE COAST TO SAN ANTONIO AREA. AND HITTING UP THE STORES. THEY SHOULD'NT BE BOARDING. OR AT LEAST I DONT THINK SO.

THE EYE OF THE STORM IS GOING EXACTLY OVER MY HOUSE!!!!!! GAAAAAAAAA

Yeah, I had some katrina kids come to my school. And they acted like they came from the best place in the world. Being all cocky and crap. Got on my nerves. Nobody cares about your old school. GRRRRRRRR, got me so pissed.

its going to be very windy. up here in DFW we are getting tropical storm watches since winds will be around 40-50mph guest up to 60 all the way up here along with heavy rain. this was scrolling at the bottom of the weather channel.

"tropical wind watch" is what they are calling it for the dfw area.

Ha, me too. Except I'm 1 mile from the coast to the south and 1.5 miles from the bay to the north so mine will probably be underwater =\. But it's either my life or my things that have to go and thats a pretty easy choice.
BTW traffic was nice, ended up goin to Longview and the only slow-downs were because of traffic lights.
