the worms is BS though

and go to a Sam's to buy meat during the summer, I am serious they have the best selection of steaks, pork, and ground beef...

Thanks for the welcomes, there's a little I want to do to the car. First it needs a new shift boot bad and would like a knob but heard its not possible without a short throw shifter kit. The passenger window is real slow to roll up and down but is functional, maybe electric motor? Got 2 new tires but still needs 2 more. Reverse switch is bad, i'm guessing. Can't do any performance mods though, going to school at UA soon so need to conserve somewhat.

I have a TWM short throw shifter and knob that will fit your car. I had said something to Justin (yellowss07) about having it at one of our meets.

If your interested in it, I would sell it cheap, we could probably have installed in 30 min to a 1 hr.
I only used it for about 5k miles.

Dales Steak sauce not only makes steak taste awesome, but pork too.

We use it on almost everything we grille, as a matter of fact we grilled up some pork tenderloin last night with dales, made extra of course.

fixdeded... long day lol....

i didnt even catch that....

it might be cause you NEVER CALL ME lol

paul.....so after doing some number crunching....this is the final part's list.
rod bearing's. standard .00 over bore
main bearing's, standard .00 over bore
head gasket, might get a little thicker one just for ****'s and giggle's good for 1-2 hp anyways lol..
oil pressure gauge (new oil pump is $150 and i just dont have it, so ima monitor it and it take's like 2 hour's to swap from under the car)
water pump...its $20 and it includes the gasket! on www.rockauto.com
timing belt is $20 so im just gonna swap it while im there...

now here's the real question.....block will have 0 mile's, head has 0 mile's....should i swap to synthetic for the break in? ive never had a "new" motor so idk what the actual procedures are to break it in...

the rest of the gasket's are new with 0 mile's on them i bought em the last motor pull lol

I would not order bearings at all till you pull the bottom end and see if either your crank is going to have to be turned or rods resized. If not, I would at least get the crank micro polished.

I never break in an engine with synthetic.

I break it in with regular motor oil and after the break in period switch to synthetic.

Thicker head gasket yields less compression, you lose HP due to your compression ratio dropping.

Your gonna cry hard if you rebuild that bottom end and your oil pump goes out (maybe the top end too).

Don't skimp out on essential parts, especially if you plan on using it for racing.

You need to wait till you have the money for what you need to do correctly.

Use a factory OEM oil pump and timing belt/components.

this isnt gonna be the hotrod motor though, this is the dd 100hp beast...and i was backward's on the hg, i thought it bumped compression...guess ill just be getting a standard size....and if push come's to shove i do have another d16 laying around that i can rob part's off of...

trying to buy a house, and we spent a small fortune at the hospital, so our house money is running low, im putting a roof on a house today just so we can get the closing cost/down payment back in the account

time's is tough....

Way I've always heard to break in an engine is run 10W-30 for 500 miles, then change it. Then run it again for 1000 miles, change it again and run 5W30 Fully syn and change it again whenever you change your oil(I do mine every 5000).

As far as Dale's, I live byy the stuff; Steak, hamburgers, pork, deer, pretty much everything but chicken. Cattleman's bbq sauce is the **** for chicken

yeah they make "break in" oil, but my dad always used regular 10w-30 and had good results, a lot of people also go with 10w-40, either way, just be sure to use conventional

Hey just now getting back on, laserblue2006 where exactly you located? I work 6 days a week so figuring out a time to paint them would be somewhat difficult. Just now getting my last two tires tomorrow and getting the balt registered so it would be a couple weeks before I could do anything... sales tax is a b**** haha.

There's like 3 or 4 car shows going on in Huntsville tommorow lol.

Arby's is having a late model car show $10 entry
Hooter is having one
Sierra Toyota is having one for wounded and disabled Veterans

Think I'm going to paint my VC today so I can make rounds to all 3 and see some rides.

Roll on 18 wheeler, roll on!!!

Everyone ask Josh how is morning went

All kidding aside Josh, you are very lucky.

You know when the phone conversation starts out, "first off I want to tell you I'm all right and not hurt", that its not going to be good news

I had the same thing happen to me when I had my AWD talon, but I ended up driving through the median all grass at 70 mph and gettign back on the Interstate, luckily there was no gaurd rail and I had AWD.

Enjoy Import face off and try not to get sun burned..
