First interview at a Decatur Elementary school before Christmas, classmate I graduated at school with got the job.
Underlying circumstances why he got the job that I will have to tell you guys in person

Second interview was yesterday at Harvest Elementary and the only thing I know for a fact is there were 68 people who applied for the job and I was one of 5 interviewed.

So I guees I have a 1-5 chance

Also I've been using this extra time to finish up the body work Richard started, now working on the primer and paint for the turbo van.

Then re-assemble the whole thing, slap the DOHC head on the engine, re-tune and be happy.

here is my experience with drag radials:

BF Goodrich G-force TAs(IMO better than the ET streets): hook the best, but wear out FAST... i'm talking less than 5000 miles and they are SHOT(maybe 5000 miles if you are LUCKY)
Mickey Thompson ET Streets: the 2nd best hooking Drag Radial i've used last longer than the Comp TAs but not as long as the Nittos 555Rs... this tire also kind of upset me because I'd heard so much boasting about it, bought it and it performed WORSE than the BFGoodrich's they replaced....
Nitto 555Rs: everyone used to hate on them, but I loved them... they grabbed well on the street and I dead hooked on the strip... were cheaper than the MTs and lasted MUCH longer... the have since pretty much been "replaced" by the NT05s, which get BETTER reviews than the old 555Rs did, this will be what will be going on my Camaro, with Nitto Invos on the front

I'm all for Nitto. I'm running the Neo Gen Nitto tires.

yeah... if i'm running a DR, its probably going to be a Nitto just for the cost/performance... like I said, for ET busting, its the BF Goodrich G-force, no doubt about it, they dead hook and your ETs will drop more so than the other 2(even though Mickey Thompson has the "name")... but if you run them up and down the street any.... they are going to wear beyond belief

luckily, I don't have a choice... my choice is going to smaller brakes, ditching the 20s for 18s if I want Mickey Thompson or BF Goodrich, they don't make a DR in a 20 diameter and 18 is as large as they go

Nitto makes the NT05 and the 555R in my size.... the NT05s are actually considered a summer tire.... but i'll let you guys decide, lol...

the 555Rs:

the NT05s:

you can see why the NT05 is more popular now, it is "more street friendly" but obviously is a serious contender when traction is needed

the NT05s are also MUCH cheaper... for my car, the 555Rs through discount tire, run $328 each(free shipping though)... the NT05s are $240 each(free shipping)... so for less than $500 I can have a set of DRs

the BF Goodrichs are cheaper than all of them, but you pay for what you get... the are awesome the 1st 3 weeks you have them, then they are the suck

my days of dead hooking in this car are already over on the stock tires, cold weather started it(obviously)... but the Pirellis are already starting to go, they don't last worth a **** either, 15-20,000 miles if you are lucky and that is IF you aren't hard on your car... if you are? about 12,000 miles, lol... once I get the tune, even if they were brand new hooking with them would be a thing of the past, lol

But i see your point. i'm gonna look into them and figure out where i stand.

The new clutch should be here and installed like i said this week. and the dyno isnt to far away from that.

ordering my intake and tune tomorrow!

35whp and a half second faster here I come!

honestly by the time we hit the track again, it'll be more than that, i'll definitely have DRs on it and more than likely LTs with Mids

was going to go with Cold Air Inductions CAI, but decided on Texas Speed... all the guys on Camaro5 talk about the Cold Air Inductions CAI like its the best thing since sliced bread, and while it did out perform all the CAIs it was tested against(though Texas Speed was not included in the test) in peak hp... the SLP and Varaam actually did better in cooling and throttle response... 3 peak whp means nothing, it looks great on a dyno, but if the other guys CAI is cooling his car better and his throttle response with his is better, your 3whp is getting left at the drop of the throttle, lol

and with that being said, if you want to take a Camaro, GTO, Vette, or any other SBC down the 1320 very quickly, Texas Speed is known for that, lol... I trust them just a LITTLE bit more than the gurus on Camaro5... the guy that had the maroon Camaro that night at the track that came up talking to us, his stroker car(also a '10 Camaro) was built using Texas Speed exclusively and it runs mid/low 10s, lol

the Cold Air Inductions gives 20-25hwp(or so they claim)... Texas speed got 19whp on the stock tune with theirs, however, theirs is $285 shipped, CAIs is $448 + shipping, obviously tuned you'll gain a little bit more... with the extra freed up hp a tune brings and CAI, 30-35whp is not out of the question... I'm just ready to get rid of the AFM(cylinder kick down), Torque Management, and get this 6-speed auto shifting like it should be... they say its like a whole new animal when tuned, I guess like the turbo Cobalts

**edit**

Vince told me it'd be Monday before he had my 1st file done, but that is cool because i'm going to wait until the CAI goes on to load the tune and datalog anyway, Jason at Texas Speed told me the intake will be shipped through UPS on Monday

when you push a turbo to its limits, it won't last... one reason I was always kind of against the BNR...

and we need to do like a March Meet... weather should be nice by then

BNR said its rated for 28-30psi.

But the sad part is, i was only on 23-24psi the whole time with the turbo.

but the fact is they took a stock K04, threw a large compressor in it and called it good... I'm sure they say its just as reliable, but do the math... that sounds like a bad idea

I wish you luck and maybe you just got a bad one... get it on DRs and we'll line them up in the spring

I would get my tune at 8:30 at night knowing I have to be up at 4:20 in the morning... as much as I want to, I won't get to play until tomorrow... my laptop is still out of commission and i'm going to have to use my brothers to load the tune... mine decided it wanted to commit suicide by jumping off my dresser onto the hardwood floor.... it was successful, lol

but I did buy an adapter and recover the hard drive onto my PC, so my **** collection was safe!
