When I was in the Saturn of Birmingham club (when I owned a Saturn) we (North Alabama members & Birmingham members) use to have a get together every 2-3 months @ a place to eat and sit around and talk cars (we would alternate locations).

hey Josh, did you ever figure out how to reset the oil life?

if not, I SHOULD have my car mid day or so... i'll try to help you out on that...

I know you have to have your oil life showing on the DIC, I remember that much, then you hold reset and one of the other buttons until it flashes... then press the enter button and it'll say ACKNOWLEDGED

I just can't remember what combination it is

Well it was nice meeting you 2 today. To bad Mel didn't get there early enough to enjoy the company of the Hooter girl (Catherine) that sat at our table off and on for
2 hrs

Any how we need to get a meet together, Josh even ran into a guy that owned a Cobalt ss/tc (in Huntsville) on the way home that said he would be up for a meet. I don't really care where we have it (Hooters sure has a nice view, ermmm, food), as long as there is some food involved and we can hang out for a few hrs.

really? it worked the last time I called it

I'll look and see if I have another one... I haven't called GM in a couple of weeks, they've been calling me... its listed as "800 service" on my caller ID, so no help....

just try their 1-800 number

1.800-222-1020

that is customer service

bitch enough and you'll get on up the ladder, when they hear my name they just go ahead and send me to their boss, lol

I have a part number but it shows up as a 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP or Sky Redline ECM:

GM PART # 12605038

but that is for a blank one that would need to be flashed with tech-II

other than that, the only other option I know is through ZZPerformance... and then that would be just getting a tuned ECM from them and keeping your stocker, so that'd be an expensive route(about $600)... the ecm is unlocked though so you could load vince's tune over it... but if you already have a tune on your stock one(Josh), I don't know if even that would work... in that case, i'd buy the ZZP ECM, get with Vince and get him to build a stock file using your VIN, that would be the BEST chance of it appearing as the OEM one, the good news with it is, no need for tech-II

other than that, good luck... most are gone, ECUoutlet isn't getting any more etc... GM has their ECMs on lock down, the ONLY way they are available now is supposedly through warranty work, vendors have been cut off completely... but with that being said, that part # is still valid and I THINK it would work on our cars(if flashed with the right stock file)... I think the only problem would be an automatic HHR SS, which uses a completely different version of the ECM... but you guys don't have to worry about that... I'd most definitely ask around before I purchased though

and then, i'd get someone not tied to my car to buy it for me(seriously, lol).... i'd use their name/address

and I THINK Vince could flash it for you, not sure, would check with that as well... there is a guy here who has the means, he'd probably do it for a small fee, but I haven't seen him post here in ages, so I don't know if he is still even on here...

U can get a blank one and it's not for me now it's for the new guy. So he's throwing a trifecta tune on it

an update on my situation:

like i said, supposed to get the car back Wednesday, Wednesday came and went... got a call from dealer on Thursday, car would DEFINITELY be in my possession on Friday

got a call 15 minutes ago, and I ******* quote:

"we were JUST NOW able to get into the transmission and discovered we need 3 more parts to fix it"

**** this, its time to seek legal help... 7 weeks having the car and they just now actually break into the transmission supposedly, **** that

this really convinces me to buy another ******* GM car, its ******* awesome having your god damn car sitting in the shop all summer while GM has their thumb rammed up their ass getting the parts and then joe hillbilly doesn't know a ******* thing about a modern gm car at the dealer

I didn't actually answer the phone call, I was asleep... but they left me a message on my answering machine... the head guy then just CONVENIENTLY stated that he was stepping out for the day... well, I don't really give a **** about his little position any way, on hold with GM as we speak...

ok...

so I tried to call my dealer back 1st and all I got one one of the desk workers in the Service Dept. the managers were out, so I told him to tell them to call me Monday, 1st thing

then almost as soon as I hung up with them, the guy from GM called me to see if I had gotten my car back yet... was a great coincidence because I was just about to call him... I told him exactly what was relayed to me through the phone.... even played my answering machine message for him.... even he sounded pissed on the phone(not at me)... he apologized and I don't know what is going to happen but now his boss is going to call me on Monday... and this guy works in claims for GM... so apparently they have come to realize i'm probably about to get legal action as well

when I get more, i'll post an update........but I didn't really get much today

i'm sure it has.....when you have your cars, lol

i've pretty much spent my summer "paying" for a shitty ass rental car

and i'm the type person, my car is a good bit of my summer life... all my friends are into cars, etc....

oh and guys, lets do this:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/lounge-42/tail-dragon-meet-brainstorm-220111/

if you've never been to Deal's Gap/Tail of the Dragon, you need to experience it for yourself, its a lot of fun... and I don't give a **** what you drive

i've been thinking trying to get us to do this next spring but looks like some guys already have it planned out, I definitely plan on going, hell, i'd probably miss a Bama football game to go, its that much fun

its not really that far of a drive, its right on the Tennessee/North Carolina border
