So... Does anyone know how to, or know of a shop that can build a forged 2.2 ecotec? I had a local shop in VA Beach build one for me once before but they didnt do such a hot job. They forgot to install rod bearings on the number 4 cyl rod.

actually, i didnt hear anything... however when i started it up there was a check engine light and i pulled the code and it said something about low frequency knock sensor. 6k miles later i started hearing a noise from the motor and it sounded like lifter chatter. 2k miles after that i could hear it in the car while it was at 3k rpms and someone w/ me heard it and said that was either rod bearings going bad or the piston wrist pins going bad. 655 miles later, almost home to michigan, number 4 cyl rod goes into pieces throught the front of the block while passing a semi truck. No signs of disintigrated bearings in the oil pan or anything. Just pieces of marblized forged rods and the piston sitting in the top of the head. bad day it was for me, lol.

thanks i'll keep that shop in mind for when i get back from deployment (3 1/2 more months to go)
