Sorry Ricky, not buying in. He's not walking up to anyone and saying buy my Civic. He's put an advert on ebay that says 20k OBO on the hope that if he does get talked down he gets talked down a minimum. But there's also a chance, however small, that someone pays him close to that.

Why would you or anyone else leave money on the table when you can try to get more and it doesn't cost you to do so? That's just bad business.

As far as Cobalt being god's gift to earth, well, yes, I've seen that bunch. It's not the majority. It's a vocal minority. That may have had an influence here, sure, but I still don't see this as bad strategy or anywhere near as evil as you play it to be.

And I still don't understand the hatred.

 

start high, sell low. I had two prices for my balt when I sold it, the private property price for joe schmo and the balt forum member price, my lowest price I'd take(which it sold for). I was asking 13 privately and just over 10 for forums. Hell yea I would of loved to have gotten KBB but knew its a niche market and was happy with the small profit. Even better it went far, far, farrrrrrrrrrrrrr away.

Ebay is a good selling advertisement worldwide. I bought a backhoe and a mustang on ebay and both turned out great! I have friends from Hendrick chevy buy from ebay and the owner from scott mckorcell pontiac bought my 2008 chrysler 300 from ebay from me also.

I know I'm in Virginia but I'm not too far from NC...where do you guys normally meet in NC?? My husband and I would love to come see everyones cobalts

 

we always talk about meets but never really do it so we dont hav a set place but im thinking raleigh, charlotte, or fayetteville

 

We usually go to Charlotte to eat at Quaker Steak and Lube (god I love that place) I will keep in touch and hopefully we can get a lot of people together

 

theres quite a number of cobalts in nc, its jus who actually shows up if we plan it tho. i wouldnt mind it if at least 6-10 showed
