haha awesome. However I doubt you, or your wife to be would want to spend ANY part of your honeymoon with all of us... LOL. Good luck on the honeymoon though!

i think it would be badass to have a cruise through the mountains on a honeymoon, me and the wife did that on our honeymoon but not with a group of people...

anyhow the big area across from hastings will be fine i'll update first post.

knoxbox, can you post a make and model of the radio you are using or maybe some frequency information so we could find compatible radios?

as far as i know mine are cobras from walmart... lemme look them up...

okay i have cobra microtalk li-6050

Radio information

link above click it to get more detailed info... as far as i know as long as it is a two way radio it should work... if all else get a cobra two way radio from walmart and it should work just fine...

my dad and i used these when we went on our vacation to orlando, fl. the battery lasted the entire way and worked great very little if any interference through atlanta or orlando, and we did not use any of the interference blockers, charged them and set them to the same main channel and they worked great, i figured we could set them all to the same channel when we meet up at 9:00 i figured if we meet at 9:00 that would give everyone a hour to get there and we will leave at 10am on the dot... so the hour before is mostly to get to know one another set the radios to the right channel if you are going to bring one... and check out everyones car etc. also you could just rent one lol, what i mean is buy one at walmart and return it the next day lol... walmart takes everything back... i work there i know.

most of these radios can be bought in a 2 pack at walmart for under 30 bucks a single pack you can get for under 15 probably.

lemme know if you need any more info.

just looked at walmart.com and target.com both of which looked like everything was over 30 bucks as far as two way radios go... i guess i might have gotten mine on clearance... but most people have a two way radio around the house already least most people i know as long as its a gmrs/frs should work just fine i believe.

If only I had the gas money. BTW as long as your radio has channels 1-40 they will all be compatable.

hey, also Fontana Dam may not be a bad stop to see. It's a pretty sweet view. What do you think about adding that to the list of stops.
Are you talking to any of our other members out there?

There is a meet up by Raleigh that same day or I might make the long haul out there

ya were 4 cops on it yesterday if we don't do nothing stupid we will have no reason to get stopped... this run through the dragon and cherohala is a scenic run sure we will be driving a bit spirited but for the most part im just going to cruise through enjoy the views and hang out with friends, thats what this is all about.

I didnt know you had any members up this way. And actually, you do kinda owe me a trip up this way dont ya? If you can make it up, it'd be great to have you along. It'll be a damn nice cruise. I'm gettin the Z lowered this coming Saturday morning so i'll be in damn good shape by cruise time. As far as cops on the dragon, as Knoxbox said, drive like somebody and they wont say anything. I made a trip up there Saturday afternoon and had no problems at all.
