Gulf Coast ECOtecs
I'm with Anthony on this. We can't really compare the lnf and the lsj. Two different engines. When talking blower and turbo efficiency on the lsj, however, a turbo does much better and is easier to get any power level you want. You're basically limited to 300 horses with the stock m62 and no nitrous. Add a moderate shot of nitrous, do some head work, full bolt ons/cooling mods, and run a decent sized pulley (basically an efficient stock blower build) and you will see mid to upper 300's.
It all really depends on what YOU want and expect from your car. In the end, it may out run certain v8's and be a pretty mean 4 cylinder, but its still a cobalt and has its own place in the car scene. All of us understand that and have made a pretty good name for ourselves around here because of it.
Anyways, we aren't as active as we are when we first started up. Rnr kinda burned us out on car shows and gatherings, but we still like to get together on the weekends as friends, bull **** on the internet, and run a race or two now and then. We like to try to attend all of the big events as a club. We was offered a killer deal on the lone star bash thing, that's the only reason some of us are gonna try to go.
We do photo shoots 3 or 4 times a year. Its just another way for us to get together again, talk cars, and take some nice pictures. Rusty is our camera guy. You won't find a better one around than him. Plus he doesn't charge us anything to do it.
All in all we are a very chill group. We don't all live in gulfport, which is why we don't hang out every weekend, along with various other reasons.
Some of the events we go to is of course scrapin and cruisin the coast. New Orleans street racing.org puts on a meet every year called lake front meet. We like going to that. We try to hold our own meet about once a year. At the beginning of this year we had a fun meet at the USS Alabama in mobile. We are gonna start planning one very soon to go meet some of our friends in Florida again and chill there for a weekend. We have affiliates in new Orleans as well. Those are just a few things we do as a club.
Of course if you have any questions about anything car related you can ask us. Between Adam, Anthony, Aaron, Dustin and myself we have enough experience to probably help you out with anything when it comes time to do so.
Like Anthony said a couple of us are about to start builds. I believe he was talking about Adam and I. We like to try to be neck and neck with each other when it comes to performance. We like helping each other out. We are basically a group of good friends that happen to like and have the same cars...
Sorry for the rant. That's basically what we are all about. Now I gotta let me fingers rest for typing all of this on my blackberry ha ha

Actualy the LNF and the LSJ are the same block and valve train.. They just turboed it to get the extra ponies out of it.
God damn i dont get on here for a day and the thread blows up!
I went riding today!!!
Not for me. I want it to last. I love the GMPP clutch..
You will have to go huge turbo or twin charge with N02 on top of that to get 500. You will have to resleve and probably the GM racing block if you can get your hands on one.. Might as well go buy a z06 for the money you will spend. and thats def not pump gas. 500 horse is useless on FWD. I spin the tires through 2nd gear on dry pavement as my car is and im only on 42's and a 2.9

Same block, yes, but many other differences besides the turbo. Variable valve timing, direct injection, and a stronger transmission to name a few things. All of those are grounds enough to make them unfair to directly compare.
Twin charge will probably be the easiest and most efficient way to reach 500. Use the stock blower and pulley to spool the s269 extended tip bullseye turbo. Those are good for over 500 horses.
But Aaron is right. Nearly nothing will be stock as far as internals go. Hell I say get the stroker block, get your hands on one of those big magnuson blowers, and put about a 75 shot of nitrous on it. Get some good cams that can take you well over 8k in order to get in that blowers efficiency range and you should be all set.
It can run 93 octane with 100 percent meth. You can achieve 116 octane with the right meth set up.

What does my car being flawless have to do with you spinning your tires?? LOL you may have forgotten I've had your setup before (2.9 and 42's with an intake).... I know what it's like. Hahaha
You do meet the requirements that area stated is needed.

I believe he already said that his car isn't stage 2. And for a car with a 2.9 inch pulley and 42 lb injectors, it is a car worthy of writing home about. its out ran a 2.7/60s car more than once. It has proven itself.
I can personally say that his "stage 2" set up surpasses your old set up tremendously.
When are you and I going to race Adam rolly?
