Nashville Fall Meet
Thats kind of funny since I recieved an email today from a person who was HPT tuned by a well known HPT tuner on here asking me if I knew anyone who wanted to buy the BNR GT2871 he bought off me, but never installed.
"well...... the poo has hit the fan. something went pop with my engine, it's at the dealership trying to get warrantied, i'm doubting it will. so with that said, i'm going to be selling the BNR now. i have a couple locals sort of interested in the BNR but i doubt they'll come thru and purchase it. was there anyone you knew that was interested? i just want my money back in case i have to purchase a new engine."

Seems like the trend lately, blow them up, break them or wreck them.
I've also noticed ALOT of people within the last month getting rid of there cars.
Now only if we could get those SS sedan owners to get rid of more so I have some to choose from next year.
or
I might go Crossfire SRT-6, haven't decided yet.

I do, I don't like to smear people's names out there unless they want me too.
Just like when I sold him the turbo, no one knew, but me and him.
All the Bama guys knew was I sold it.
Just know he was a hard core HPT guy through and through before he popped his motor.

I'm the same way..
But you going to the meet in nashville?
Lol, I would have raced any of the HPT balts in the HHR SS, the only one that would have given me any problems would have been James.
The Regal Turbo, well someone has got to bring up the rear in style

this guy had an almost fully bolted Trifecta balt....and trapped over 88mph in the 1/8th....which is as fast or faster than most of the Hptuned balts on this site... and that is on a shitty track
driver mod ftmfw
some of us talk about kill stories, some of us have time slips.... just sayin'

a 2.0 60' on some Falken 452s which aren't an "extreme" performance tire by any means:

I know I wish I still had the HHR SS to take up
Paul, I wish some way I still had both... I wouldn't trade the Camaro for it, but I miss the **** out of the car, there is something about unleashing an unexpected 300+ whp on people out of a Cobalt that put a smile on my face.......they expect the Camaro to be fast(though its SLOWER than the Cobalt right now, lol) so its just not the same...
you beat a guy in a GT in a Camaro, they get upset but not really... you put 3+ cars on them in a Cobalt...."what the f***, god damn... son of b****"
oh and boys, i take my drag racing serious, lol
its why all my friends are wanting to run the new SS right now... they know its still stock for the time being, lol

The thing with hptuners its all on the tune. So say a guy wants a aggressive tune. Then the tuner will keep adding timing and boost unless asked other wise. Like with me I was doing a remote tune to a guy on css.net who was trifecta tuned. He asked for a good dd tune so i gave him 23.5 lbs and started my base file there. Well we logged about 18 times because no matter what i did with his boost or timing he got kr. and his kr wouldnt go away so i took timing down to 13 and it was still there. So i decreased boost to 17lbs to see what it would do and guess what it was still there. So i asked the guy i was tuning to get new plugs he said i will soon. So i put the car back to 13* again and raised the boost back up to 23.5 with a spike of 24.3 and kr went away. So i relogged him and revised him again changed maf calibrations in the correct places and added timing and i had him running a lmbda of .86 which is plenty safe even in high ass elevations. Well i was told by him hes gonna go dyno so i told him to send me a log so he did and i revised the file and he had kr in the log but it was phantom which means it would speratically leave and come back. So i told him to give me another log before the dyno. Well he didnt but he dynoed the car without getting new plugs and he data logged it. His trims were 1% off at most and timing was at 15.5 then. Well he dynoed and he made 303whp and 427 ft lbs. So he tells me i lost 7 whp BECAUSE HE MADE 310WHP AND 340 or somthing wtq. Trifecta was a 24 lbs tune.. he was heat soaked because they let the car sit for 30 mins before dynoing. And i revised the file to what i could so i took more timing out and gave it more fuel. And i asked the owner of the car i was tuning to have the car on the dyno run for 10 mins with the fans running and do some pulls while on there but not to dyno yet to make sure the ecm is focusing on the sensors at hand (CLOSED LOOP) hE GOT THE SAME NUMBERS BUT GOT 3-6 KR on the mid range on top end before 6k rpm... His whp loss was due to timing loss from the kr and the fact he just uploaded a tune and dynoed it.. With hptuner that cant be done because the ecm is not learning... Even if the trims are 0% off itll never be ok tto do that..
The moral of this story lol is Logging and do what your tuner asks lol.... After the guy dynoed he said he didnt understand tuning and he wanted to go back to trifecta. He said he was scared because he got kr. I told him to replace the plugs and after that send me a log. Well he wouldnt because he said that the tune is what caused the kr (WHICH IS ACTUALLY UNTRUE) because i decreased timing, boost, more fuel tried my best to get rid of it but he would listen to what i was saying to do..But what the hell what can i do to make someone do somthing i did my best to teach him about what i was doing but he didnt want to learn.
Ive had issues with lnfs doing this and the majority of it was plug gap, plugs, coil packs or even the knock sensors.
This same file i used as a base i used with a guy in Northern California and other high elevation places and they all had 0 kr and most of the time i would only need to log them 4-6 times to get it al perfect.
So when it comes to tuning its all on the car and what the owner wants. (And trying to make the car owner understand whats goingon).......................................... .......................

Well on 12-14 lbs of boost i trapped 92 mph with traction on and spinning down the track and then i turned traction off and i went 88.98 so me turning up my boost is pointless without slicks. EXSOCCER1921 WAS THERE cuz he was the one who went down the track with my car lol.
Josh is here... Bama family reunion complete!
....I was stock turbo though and didn't even have an IC
