But I think now I have it narrowed down to Marines or Navy most likely Navy but I want to keep my options open. I do have a question though. How do they decide where you will be stationed. Do I have any say what so ever in the process?

I will most likely look into a IT job however I wouldnt mind being an MP becuase originally I wanted to be a police officer and I still do but it wont be for ahwile.
Initially you may just be given options for regions...on whats called a dream sheet. its just that, dreams. what you put down may not be where you go. but also it depends on how you place in you training class. they may give you the choice of orders. just remember, they have the final say.

But if you stay in long enough, you get to make a choice between what they offer you. My last conversation with my detailer went like this... "Here are your choices... Guam, Guam, Guam, Japan, or a deploying ship out of Norfolk?" So here I sit, Little Creek, Virginia... fixing to head to the Med.

This I know, how do you think I got into Mayport to begin with? The orders I had never saw JASS (or whatever the hell they're calling it these days). I had an ENCM and a HTCM calling Millington for me. No dice. Had my RO (Capt select) call, no dice. Just wasn't in the cards for me this time. It's all good. Heading to Japan for my next tour. $$$$$$$$

There is a 1/8th mile in Holt which is about 30 miles outside of pcola you can see it from the interstate. Its called Emerald Coast Dragway. Kinda hard to find when you actually get into Holt. Id mapquest it or you will probably not find it becuase its in the boondocks

Tint in Jax or OP?

Hey all, need some help. I'm currently overseas, and the wife is looking to get the balt tinted out for me for our anniversary. Any good shops in Jax or OP that you'd recommend? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I got mine done at First Coast Window Tinting. Mine was 170 for 5% tint all the way around and a windshield strip and they stripped the tint that that was on the rear windows already because they said they could guarantee their work if they didn't. Their number is 9048540389

You are the man, thank you sir. I'm not looking for 5%. Feeling my age these days and I can't see so great at night anymore. Probably going with something between 15 and 20% all the way around. Thank you for the input.

I can't remember the name right off hand, but I know exactly where its at, if you or the wife knows anything about Starke I can tell you exactly where its at. My brother got his Explorer's tint done there and it looked good.

Slow man slow, doing the auto to manual tranny swap at the moment. I have to remove the whole dash to pull out the old brake pedal and put in the "new" one. Its a serious PITA, I was hoping to have the car ready by April but its starting to look more like June or July....

Ouch. I'm sure you'll have it up and running. Sounds like a real headache, though. More power to you for even trying it. Hey, before I left I had heard some rumors about a proposed track complex out west of Jax on I-10. Ever hear anything like it?

Kool, keep me posted. Would like to hit a track when I get back. But driving from Yulee to Gainesville isn't worth the trip the way gas prices are these days.

When my wife and I first met, she was living in Keystone Heights and working in Gainesville. I was out in Atlantic Beach. She'd leave work at 5:00p on a Friday in Gainesville and drive all the way out to the beaches to spend the weekend with me. She'd get there around 8:30p or 9:00p every night. Every now and then I'd drive out to Gainesville to meet her, and that was a royal pain. But worth it.
