Give her a ride and she'll have the big O also. Well, she might just have an issue doing it in your car. Mabye you'll have to show her in hers.

We learned a few lessons about the spring install. It actually took us longer to figure out how to loosen 1 bolt than it actually took in work....go figure. Glad you like the car. We'll have to go for a run soon.

Yeah man, I'm down for a trip to the track whenever you guys want to go. I'll try to convince my buddy jeremy to fill up his bottle and run his silverado against me before he sells it.
You and kritter both got the Eibach springs right?

Hey Doc, what are you guys doing for Labor day? I'll have a clutch to go in if you're interested. I'm debating on doing it myself or paying a mechanic.

I'm not sure whats going on Labor Day.
As far as the clutch goes. Your braver than I am. Its listed as an 8 hour job. That I'd bet would take almost the entire weekend. If your doing this at the hobby shop, I'd love to help eventhough its almost worth paying someone $500 for the install.

Actually if I was going to have it done non warranty time my local stealership was going to charge me 100% over 9 hours of labor, so I would have had to pay $78 an hour labor for a total 18 hours of labor and $1482 to have the clutch changed out. That's labor only mind you. And they refused to put on a non GM part. I went to a reputable ASE mechanic and got quoted $600 dollars. But $600 is still quite a big chunk of change. I have a CM FX400 6 puck on the way. Still debating on whether I want to do it myself or pay the money. If I have the mechanic do it I'm taking a week of leave and I ain't doing jack until my car is fixed. The local stealership situation is so bad I'd drive to VA for a good one.

Yea, that dealership is screwy. The alldata quotes 8.4 hours, that is to replace it.

I have a local guy that will do it for $550. I never asked the dealership though. I'll have to ask them to see how competitive they are. They quoted me $250 for the CAB install. I am trying to find a press to do it myself.
I've thought about the CM FX300 or 400 myself....Its a lot of change to drop for me right now.

I looked at the actual hours on the screen, and it said 9 hours. The explanation I got was that was a warranty only time, anything after that they charge a minimum of 80% over because "the mechanics don't like to do warranty time, they don't make enouph money". Well mine's slipping and I don't really have much choice, I'm getting it done. $1100 and I'm getting out cheap.

Edit: And I drove an hour away to another stealership, so it isn't even local.

Give me $1100 and I'll drive down there, rent you a car and have it done up here.

That's parts and labor. I'm in a quandry, at least I'm pinning on Sgt next month. That should ease the burden a little.

Be careful not to tighten the bolts down too tight. My dumb ass snapped one this week. I now have Grade 8 bolts in my motor mount.
