Arizona BS Thread
Gerard from autotech transmission just quoted me for 3500 to 4000 to do an f23 swap.... anyone ever done business with this place? Or heard anything?
He said he could.definitely do it just wasn't sure on the price of what everything would be at the moment. Said the tcm wouldn't matter.

tyler....do you even know how to drive a 5speed?
manuals have no electronic controls. chris could tune out all the auto stuff from your tune.
you would need the VSS and reverse sensors thats in well and the nutral safety.

Lolz yes I know How to drive a stick... its been a few years but I'm sure it will be like riding a bike. He seemed to be pretty confident that he could do it all.
Yup I listed everything out for him pretty much and he said it should be very do-able I'm gonna call him tomorrow to make sure he's for sure.

I could tune all that stuff out I am pretty sure just havent done it before. Does the auto have a VSS? Also on the neutral and reverse how does the auto handle that? If with sensors I would think the clutch switch could go as the neutral switch and the stock reverse switch wiring for the new reverse switch. Again this is just easy on paper I dont really know what/how the auto is setup and where/if the sensors exist.
Ok, so you could use the neutral saftey switch wiring as you clutch switch if its an on off signal? Also if the VSS millivolt signals are the same you could wire the LSJ into the auto harness. Only thing is if they are not comparable or compatible then how would the ECU know the speed/RPM? Unless the RPM is read off of the CKPS and/or CPS..
If he's doing a F23 swap, why would he use LSJ anything?RPM is based off crank sensor. The NSS would have to be wired into the cabin of the car to the clutch switch. Can't loop it cause it will throw a code for it( i know this one for fact lol). When I first got my car I was leaving the weight of my foot on the pedal, being my car has a top clutch switch and bottom clutch switch,it threw a code for the top one cause it though it was electronically shorted out.Stopped leaving my foot on the clutch pedal and it went away haha.
steve is right about the NSS and the clutch switch. i am 99% sure that the VSS will plug right in. the auto should have one unless it governs the 108MPH fuel cutoff/limiter differntly. In the manuals, the VSS is what the governer is based on.
VW's are great cars, interior and Daily Driving I would swear by it. Now, modding and what not, you sure get dicked/raped in the prices you pay to mod them. I know newer V dubs offer a little more bang for the buck regarding power but you still pay an arm and a leg for just bolt-on's. Get into a build and a turbo kit and **** man, hope you have deep pockets.
Love the Gli, its a fun car for a daily.
