I was wondering if there are any weekly meets for any balts in the Mesa, AZ area. And if there aren't any balt meets, are there any decent "tuner" meets. I ask this b/c I used to go to the weekly meets with the muscle car/hot rod guys right around the corner from my house, and it was really fun. It got to where it was basically a car show with a cruise after, and a couple races. There were usually 20-50 cars that would show, sometimes more. But I can't show up to that in the balt, or I'd be the laughing stock. Well they would think I was just there as a bystander.

Lower Phoenix, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, whatever, I just think it might be something to look forward to at the end of the week.

 

Scottsdale Pavillions @ Indian Bend and the 101 on Saturday afternoons. Goes till like 10 or so, I think, before the cops clear it out.

 

Cool thats only 11 miles away from me. I could make that if I get a couple of Saturdays off. I was thinking something more like night meets, ya know, 9PM-1 or 2AM

There has to be more Phx Metro area 'Balts.

 

I don't know of any regular meets that go that late, unless they still do the illegals in Phoenix.

illegal races in areas that are on the outskirts of the city where even high dollar super cars come out to play usually happen in the north scottsdale area and are normally started in the inner city in various spots such as a sonic fast food place in the north valley

 

What do you mean what r those. They are illegal races that are around town. They are at alot of different places every weekend. The Pavillions he's talking about is a car show that starts about 5:30pm till about 10pm. If your looking for illegal races im not sure of any on the east valley but there are a bunch around town. I live all the way on the west valley (avondale) and there are a couple around me. There is a CIAZ (cobalt ion az) group here and we all meet at the Pavillions everweekend.

 

I thought he was talkin bout a car club or something. "The Illegals" sounds like a club... to me at least.

Yeah, my bro was tellin me about the scottsdale "illegals" with every kid that owns a porshe, Z06, Lotus, Ferrari, Lambo, EVO IX, Skyline GTR, etc...Mommy and Daddy's money. I also heard that they race for large sums of money.

Is there anything like a step down from that? You know early 20's guys who have worked their asses off to get a decent car, and aren't snobby, and take pride in their cars.

 

The scottsdale illegals are really the only ones that ull see those kinds of cars.lol. There are a ton of illegal race spots. Like OniMirage said, they start usually at a sonic or empty parking lots to gather everyone up and then go to a different location. Just have to be at the right place at the right time. I go to a few out here but like i said i don't know of any out there. Sorry.

 

Damn avondale is like 20 some miles away. Looks like I'll prolly be doin my regular solo cruise tonight. Maybe I'll go through gilbert this time.

It's the Garage at Gilbert's House out near Avondale. A lot of us go there to work on projects and hang out with him because he is one of the coolest guys. He has the heaviest built cobalt in AZ, just waiting on Cameron and me to tune it.

 

Gotcha. There's nothin goin on CIAZ tonight. Just Firebird. I could prolly go but I wouldn't race, cause with the tires I got my RT would be horrific, not to mention where my quarter would be.

 

yeah i know who gilbert is, we called him G-Unit. He's my uncle and I know him that hes building the bannana, he usually comes to yuma and then he go to mexico to the races and some time here in town there are a lot imports here and we are just waiting for his car to be finished so he can take it to the track in mexico
