EVERYONE!!! DO NOT GO TO FIREBIRD THIS FRIDAY!!! I DON'T THINK THEY WILL BE OPEN B/C THERE IS A MONSTER TRUCK EVENT ON SATURDAY, AND THEY HAVE TO SET UP CEMENT BARRIERS ON THE TRACK!!! PLUS I JUST ORDERED MY B&M SHIFTER FOR $116, BUT IT WON'T GET HERE 'TIL MONDAY, AND I JUST FILLED UP MY CAR SO I'M ALL LOADED DOWN WITH GAS. I'M NOT GOING THIS FRIDAY, BUT I AM 100% GOING NEXT WEEK!!!!!!1111oneone

How? they put cement barricades ON the track to keep the monster trucks from going out of control and running over the fans lol

 

The Firebird Website still lists "Friday Night Drags" for June 16th. And event on the 17th.

they only move the blocks around. the drags should still be open no prob. The monster trucks run in the dirt track area in another section of the track. It has stands already too so they must just be movin stuff. Even if it aint open visually today friday is completely different. I think your just trying to back out there blown 4 banger. Hehehehe. I am gonna go anyway and if it is closed I will wait for you all and we can just go on a drive

 

Kate and I are going to speedworld tonight in a couple of minutes. We've never been. Hopefully someone else comes too.

 

Is speedworld even open on wednesday night? Plus the monster trucks do there thing ON the drag strip, I was at the event last year. Also, I have a B&M short shifter IN THE MAIL, and tomarrow I'm getting a magnaflow with mandrel bent tubes. Why would I go this friday and waste the gas, money, wear and tear on my car when its gonna be faster next week?

 

Hey guys, I'm out this week. A co-worker has to leave very un-expectedly, and Friday is her last day. We're having a happy-hour goodbye get together Friday after work, so I'll have to push it back a week. But the good news is that my torque brace shipped today, so I'll have it installed by then. If anyone goes, good luck!

 

See thats two people out, all the more reason to go next week.

 

yeah i blow the 1st 1 up raceing a Mustang GT then drove it to get food then home and half way to the dealer but the car was only a month old thats y they did it for free the second 1 was just the Stage 3 kit's falt

 

I just called firebird they are open tomarrow. I'm still trying to get into the 14's i have my stage kit supposedly in the mail, it seems like it has taken a while. but ill feel alot better when i get my car into the 14's stock.

Speedworld was good last night, me and steve had never been out there. There was no one there so that was pretty cool, we both got about 15 runs in. The track felt good too, so much better than firebird.

 

What kind of times did you get? It's a long as hell drive for me, but I've love to check it out sometime.

 

i got a 15.2 again and again and again. Steve had his best time yet of 14.6. It is way the hell out there, it definitly was not what i was picturing.

 

whoa 15 runs on a better track than fireturd? I have never been to this place but I hear its like hella far I have no clue where it is or how much the entry fee is

 

I know it's in the *far* northwest Valley...I hear it's not terribly expensive, though. Same price range as Firebird, I thought.

its at 195 ave and happy valley. It is far but it is about the same distance to firbird as it was to speedworld for us at least. and it was $20 to get in, they take $5 of on wednesdays if you have a student ID.

 

College ID I assume? Firebird only caters to the high school kids . . .
So that's $15 to race on Wednesdays, then? Not bad at all. Of course, it's like $15 more in gas round trip for me.

 

oh it's out there? hmm so you can take grand all the way there huh ... that area would actually be cooler at night than fireturd. something to think about cus firecrap is pissing me off

edit // the old dude that stages the cars really pisses me off. He doesn't wanna be there and he is like a buddy buddy with other people so if you **** one of em off like i did he will skip you and start staging people in the lane next to you.

 

yeah it definitly did feel cooler up there and wednesday is a good night to go, and for 15 runs you really get your money's worth, ther is NO waiting around, me and steve were just driving up tro try to find the staging lanes, little did we know we were in them and they were flagging us up...
