IAT Info

Ok guys I need a lil info help from ya. I'm wondering those with the aeroforce interceptor gauges, AGGUIE!!!, what are you normally seeing as far as IAT 1 & 2 going. I'm looking for just cruising, idle and wot runs. I'm trying to see if I have a prob with my system at all.

I know the AZ guys are gonna be a lil more help to me then others cause your driving in the same heat I do everyday.

I've been noticing my mph drop at the track some and I'm thinking my IAT's are gettin to hot and it's pulling timing.

Thanks in advance guys

I don't even monitor my IAT1 temps. I monitor IAT2 and KR. As far as my IAT2's, they usually run ~15* above ambient. If I am sitting in traffic they will go up to ~25-30* above ambient but once I start moving they drop back down.

So on a 95* day I see ~110* IAT2's while cruising. Last time at the track my IAT2's were ~120* on the staging line and go up to ~145* passing the ling.

OTT Heat Exchanger, Progressive Meth Injection(50/50 mix for the moment), and running Distilled Water/Water Wetter instead of dexcool/water mix.

Holy cow Auggie, thats high. I knew this heat was killing us, but I didn't think that bad. I just recently made my own duall pass with Rey's stock endplate. I'll get to see what mine are at since my gauges finally came in.

Run the stu mod guys. I am 15 to 20 degrees above iat1 while crusing. Under wot when steve was tuning my car i think i hit in the 150's. It was well over 100 when he was tuning. Im running a 75/25 meth mix so its not cooling as well as i could set it up to. Stu mod delays heatsoak well.

I'm just about the same as you are, same meth mix, stu mod, etc...and my iat's are nearly the same.

I'm on the 3.1 pulley with the TVS. But remember that the TVS is hot. I saw a drop in IAT2's just by going from the dexcool crap to distilled water. Distilled water dissipates heat better than dexcool does.

The Cobra H/E is..... I guess it is just is...

Upgrade to the OTT Heat Exchanger if you can. By far the best one on the market. It fits with zero mods to the bumper and I believe it has the most cooling capacity put of any exchanger on the market.

Pm Sean(lsjwannabe) or Josh(Fast98) if you have any questions.

Yes I def wanna do the Stu mod. I'm just hoping to get some extra cash soon as I'm getting the one WickedSS2005 is making. Looks nice.

I finally got my gauges installed and got to measure my IAT's. During the night of around 95 degress at idle my IAT 1 is around 105 and IAT2 gets to about 140ish after sitting for more then a min. Get moving again and and IATs will get to about high 120's at around 40mph in 5th. 4th gear drops me to the low 120's. On the freeway at about 70mph i'm about 115 IAT2 and stays at 125 at wot in 3rd and 133 all the way to top of 4th gear.

It takes about 1/2-3/4 on the freeway to get back down to 120 IAT2. With this heat I'm boosting about 13.5 on a 2.8. Th mornings do alot better for me. I see 1lb more boost and IAT2 stay high 90's, low 100's
