And JJ....Audio Question!

- (Subwoofer) 10" Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1022D Sub w/ Ported Box (1600 watts)
- (Speakers) Stock Premium Pioneer Sound System Speakers

With that set-up how in the hell would I be cooking my sub? I was driving back from Cruces listening to some pretty heavy bass songs and towards the Mexican checkpoint i started to smell what distinctly smelled like burning electronics. So I turned off my system and it went away??? Is it even possible to blow my sub?

hey guys, jus spoke with the tuner and i asked him for a luil more time to get some ppl together, 250 the tune and 50 deposit to lock u in. proposing a weekend in the beginning of october. are n e of you intrested?

while i was in cruces yester day i saw a SRTC ss tc at a white looking warehouse is that n e of you ?

 

dvs, you may just end up taking your poor car in. May just save you some headaches, man. I wasn't anywhere near cruces. I was in Denver all weekend for the Bears/donkeys game. I tell you what, if you can ever get seats super close to the feild DO it. Sooooooo worth it. We were in the 16th row. Close enough to read jerseys and see facial expressions.

 

alot of factors could have done it... distortion from the music to begin with, listing to it too loud for too long (its not a coincidence no one has ever herd the end of a song when i demo my car... ill only play it full volume for like 3 minutes then let it cool down for 10-15+) sub may not be rated for the full 500rms to begin with (kenwood inflates their numbers a bit)

well background story time lol.

When i got the amp i from best buy i had a sub also from them. the installer fucked up that amp adjustment and cooked the amp. I went to a local place here in alamo and they confirmed that so i bought a new amp (current) and thats the one in question.

 

lol i was hoping u would say u bought it all from basin. nah ben king is a good guy.

if you think its the amp i can get that fixed for ya but its probably the sub

i dont think its the amp at all. but you said the bby guy set the amp wrong b4 and blew the amp and now that amp is in question. id look at the sub first thou

the deposit is included in the tune price so you give me 50 for the deposit then 200 when ur cars tuned. dont think u can get a better deal anywhere. just let me know if your still intrested
